The best deals on summer airline tickets are historically offered approximately 3 1/2 months before a departure date, as airlines attempt to determine their demand for summer travel.  Travelers looking to purchase airfare at the time will often find even cheaper rates on Tuesdays after 3 p.m., Eastern Time, after most airlines have introduced their sales for the week. As these sales don't last long, travelers should complete their purchase by Thursday, before the sale ends, to ensure the best rates.

Has anyone had a shorter layover at Chicago (45 mins)? Is it an easy airport to navigate within that time? I usually don't go for flights with less than an hour but I'm not having much luck.... I'm good at navigating airports, just haven't flown to this one before.

First time for me stopping over in Midway, but I'm at a 90min stopover.

Yeah my flight out is 90 but my return is 45 so I figure if it gets messed up at least it won't mess up any plans I make at con. I went for it because I just couldn't pass up the deal. I'm coming from FL so I actually like the layover to stretch my legs.

The SW Midway spoke has a really good fried chicken stand if anyone is hungry. It's located close to the concourse.
the last time i was through there, a few months ago, the prices were reasonable for airport food.

Also, SW leaving in Philly, the Japanese stand has pricey but a decent poke bowl, if your on a long hop going west.

Oh I love Poke, now you're talking my language lol. I'm shocked my stopover is Chicago, it's usually Pheonix...

Just bought my tickets on southwest.  I went to check the flights and there were only two seats left on the nonstop Wednesday morning out of BWI so it finally moved me to action.  Prices were around the same I have always paid them since I started going in 2016, a little less than 600 for the roundtrip nonstop each way.  Getting this accomplished has kind of made my day.  I can't wait to get back to San Diego!

BWI here too!

O'Hara or Midway?  I've only been through O'Hara and it was pretty simple getting around, but depending on the time, it can be busy and crowded there.  I did have to go from the domestic terminal to the international terminal to make my connection, but I had a 2+ hour layover, so I wasn't in a rush.  If you have time and like popcorn, get a tin of Garrett's Popcorn.

Keep an eye on your flights. I've already received emails about times/flight changes. My flight to SAN had a stop in MDW but they switched it to non stop. Which was nice and all but I stop in MDW for a reason, so had to log on and change my flight back to the other one LOL

(I stop there bc a friend from Chicago is my SDCC buddy and it's nice to meet up there and continue together)

Mine changed from St. Louis too, but in my favor. I now get to san diego a few hours earlier and then leave a few hours later, still nonstop both ways.

My flights from STL also changed from over night. Yay for cutting out a 2 hour layover!

Mine from Newark changed to leave 7 minutes earlier (I think I can manage that no problem).  My time to leave San Diego was moved up from 10:00 PM to 8:45 PM.  It's a significant change, but it means getting home earlier, which is fine.
