[who's behind it?]· ABC Studios & Marvel Television
From executive producers Joss Whedon (MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) who also co-writes and directs the pilot, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen (DOLLHOUSE, DR. HORRIBLE'S SING-ALONG BLOG), Jeffrey Bell (Angel, Alias) and Jeph Loeb (SMALLVILLE, LOST, HEROES) comes Marvel's first TV series. Witness the astonishing return of Agent Phil Coulson (IRON MAN, THOR, MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS) as he puts together a small, highly select, team to investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown secrets of our world as MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

has an ABC new series ever been shown at sdcc?
-
I can't remember when ABC (Disney) has ever done that, but Joss is involved so who knows. D23 might also mess things up >:(

Could you imagine if they had passed on this? Hahahaha.

Exactly. I'm not sure why there was any hesitation in picking this up. Is there any other show for next year more eagerly anticipated?
I can't see this show not being good. My only concern is whether or not it can live up to the hype. As for its longevity, it probably depends on how expensive it is to make.

i just read a write up on Guillermo del Toro's new project on FX....
i do not understand why studios don't do straight to series more often, Joss/del Torro on TV, duh, it's a no brainer. http://www.friendsofcci.com/forum/index.php?topic=1608.0

The problem with that Del Toro show is that book two and three can't live up to how great the first one was. I'm a big fan of Chuck Hogan as well, but I really think they dropped the ball on books 2 & 3.
Whilst we all want more Del Toro, his last few "produced by" efforts haven't been that good. I'm worried he could be stretching himself too thin (Pacific Rim is the exception). I would rather Guillermo just do a few every couple of years and it be allsorts of amazing.

We're a smaller percent of the TV audience than we think.
Funny thing is that shows like CSI are always the ratings toppers and I don't personally know a single person who watches it.

Be interesting to see if any UK broadcasters pick it up, and if they show it a day after US date

Extended trailer. Much more drool-inducing intrigue & cool.

On Friday, July 19, Marvel Television will introduce fans to their first live action television epic with their new ABC series, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” featuring a panel with executive producer Joss Whedon and Marvel’s Head of Television and series executive producer Jeph Loeb. The show will also be spotlighted at the Marvel Entertainment Booth on the Convention Center floor throughout the entire weekend, with special surprises to be announced!
-
Here's another panel I'd like to see. My days are filling up with "waiting around in line" when I'd also like to see the exhibit/vendor floor. Gotta plan plan plan!
-
I'm thinking this might be the most difficult panel to get into.

Well I least I don't have to worry about , I don't have Friday passes >:D
-
On list of must do panels!!
-
I'm thinking there will be a lot of sets available after the Korra panel since most fans will leave right after to try and make the signing in the dealers hall. But I could be wrong. Depends if they ticket it like last year or if its first come first serve.
-
if last year was any indication, korra fans didn't even make it into br 20 because of firefly.
would expect same this year due to shield.
-
Would love to get into this but think the queue will be rather large from early doors.
-
I am SOOOO bummed that SHIELD is in BR20. My Son is dressing up as Agent Coulson and I really wanted to get him into the SHIELD panel. But seeing as we'll be in Hall H all day, there's obviously no way to get into Hall H, over to BR20 and back into Hall H after SHIELD. So seeing SHIELD would mean forfeiting the majority of the panels in Hall H. Ugh!

Hello everybody! This will be my first year going to Comic-Con, thus my first year going to Ballroom 20! I've heard how notorious Ballroom 20 lines are and since Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is one of the most anticipated panels this year, what time do you recommend lining up? I don't care where I am in the room as long as I'm in there. Do you think lining up by 5:30am is good? Also where exactly does the Ballroom 20 line start since I've heard many different things from different people? Thanks!

5:30am SHOULD be fine. The line starts outside with the other big line. There's a Hall H line and there's a line for everyone else with a badge. Go inside, go up the escalators, head down the hallway, go outside through double doors, wind thru the tents. Security will point you in the right direction. Ask the people in line with you if you're worried. Odds are they're heading to the same place.
