How to Reply to Multiple People (or Posts) and Avoid Double/Triple-Posting

Here's a helpful forum tip:

You can actually add more than one quote into your reply to respond to more than one person (or multiple posts).  It's pretty easy and convenient once you know how!  ^__~

HOW TO REPLY TO MULTIPLE POSTS (using an internet browser on a computer/laptop)

QUICK REPLY TEXT BOX (within your internet browser)

If you use the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the page in a thread, you can click on the "Quote" button on each post, and then the post will automatically be added to the "Quick Reply" box.

You just have to make sure, when you type your response to each post, that you hit the "Enter" button on your keyboard a few times AFTER the closing/ending [/quote] tags.

Once again and to rephrase, hit the "Enter" button a few times AFTER this: [/quote]

Otherwise, if you don't do that, your own replies to each quoted post may be awkwardly squished together.

FULL REPLY PAGE (within your internet browser)

If you're using the full "Reply" page (not the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the page in a thread), then you can scroll down to each post below your reply text box.

Click on "Insert Quote" on the right side of the post.  Doing this adds the quoted post to your reply text box automatically.

Again, make sure to hit the "Enter" button a few times after the closing/ending [/quote] tags before typing your response, or your reply may be squished together when you submit your post.

And... that's that!  ^__^/

Your results should look something like this on your screen (major brownie points if you recognize these quotes without searching for them!):

--- Quote from: Zero ---Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a young prince lived in a shining castle...
--- End quote ---

Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was spoiled, selfish, and unkind, but then one winter's night...

--- Quote from: Zero ---It is a period of civil war, Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire...
--- End quote ---

During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon...

--- Quote from: Zero ---Don't worry.  As long as you hit that wire with the connecting hook at eighty-eight miles per hour the instant the lightning strikes the tower...
--- End quote ---

Everything will be fine.

Tapatalk uses a different method when responding to more than one post in your reply.

For example, if you want to reply to two (2) posts in the Tapatalk app, how's how to do that:

1. You should "long press" each post.  (In other words, hold down each post for a second or two.)

2. You'll notice that the top of the screen says "2 selected."

3. To the right of the "2 selected" text, you should see something that looks like a "stacked" or "shadowed" speech bubble with "..." in it.

If you've selected three (3) posts, it should say "3 selected" at the top of the screen.  Four (4) posts would say "4 selected" and so on.

4. Tap this "stacked" speech bubble button.

5. Your screen should load to the "reply" page in the app, and the posts you've selected from the previous steps already be automatically quoted for you.

6. Now, tap the areas between each quoted post to start typing your reply to that particular post.

**NOTE: In the Tapatalk app, a quoted post on the reply page should have a thick vertical line next to it.  The rest of the quoted post is still there, but they're truncated (or, rather, hidden) on this page.

If you want to see the full quoted post, press the square icon (with a pencil), and you should see the whole quoted text.  Make sure to start typing your reply AFTER the closing/ending [/quote] tag.

Pay attention to the spacing between paragraphs and tap the "Enter" key as necessary, just like how you would when quoting multiple posts using a computer internet browser.

7. Ta-da!  You now know how to reply to multiple people (or posts) in Tapatalk!  Woo-hoo!  ^__^/

Hope this helps.
