Found these on the weekend:

What are you, Worf? Do you tremble and quake with fear at the approach of combat? Hoping to talk your way out of a fight like a Human? Or do you hear the cry of the warrior, calling you to battle, calling you to glory like a Klingon?

Yeah. Marvel Trading Cards from 1992. Below is a better pic.

On Saturday, my family and I went to Flying Color Comics in Walnut Creek and met Arthur Adams.  Great guy.  Very friendly.  Signed everything we had and let us take a pic.  I have to say that it was such a different interaction than at SDCC.  It's no surprise though, at SDCC he has 1000s of people making demands on his time ... it's a stressful event.  Anyway really enjoyed meeting him.

I love that Thor...

Quick kinda related story...I hung out at the end of 2015 NYCC for the Charity Auction, in the hopes of picking up something really cool.  Part of the line-up had not one, but two Walt Simonson original sketches of Thor, so I'm thinking I got a shot, sure...

Holy !@#$% did the bidding skyrocket!  Way, way, waaaaaaaaaaay outta what I had originally budgeted...it was a learning experience for me as it relates to purchasing artwork of this nature in that type of venue..was exciting watching the bidding go so high so quick, but man was I bummed...

***** Update: Found the sketch *****

$1,500?

yeah- i've yet to go to a charity auction at con--- they scare me ;)  it's hard enough doing online autions-  i had my eye on a Moon knight a few years ago by Steinwick(?sp) full page- amazing piece- I was going to top bid $6-800- i think it ended up at $2,200....LOL!!

i also was looking at a Thanos by Starlin pin-up this auction--- i think it ended up at $220 but all in all, i am happy with with the comics and art this auction- they seem to end up at the low end of what i think their value is.

I figure if i go for names doing classics i can't go too wrong ;)

that thor was $81

I hear you.  I went to Fanime con several years back and for a special charity auction to raise money to support victims in the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake, I saw a piece go for $15,000.  One man bidding against half a dozen staffers who were pooling their money together to get this one piece.  It was insane.  Several other pieces went by hundreds to couple thousand each.  Its the only time I've ever really tried participating in one of these.  It's its own brand of crazy (more so than comic fans already are).
