it brought a whole new level of complexity to comic collecting when I moved into buying unique original art

Sometimes I'll read something and be floored by it, but years later if I go back to it I'm just "meh." Recently picked Darwyn Cooke and Dave Stewarts "DC: The New Frontier" Deluxe Edition and was happy to find that my favorite sequence of panels was every bit as as great as I remembered it. John Cloud, the last of the Losers, diving into the mouth of a T Rex while holding two active grenades.

Even better, in Darwyn Cooke's notes, he says "The best four pages of American comics I will ever do. Just ask me, I'll tell you. Oh ... and it's no mistake that NF's first bona fide hero is a Native American."

I don't think I posted this...had Michael Golden do this for me as SDCC last year, character from his run on the Micronauts book from Marvel...great book and art from him, Butch Guice, and then Kelly Jones.

Discovered Jorge Jimenez recently.  I really like his high energy style of penciling.

Modern comics need more ink in my opinion.  They feel unsaturated to me.  <--I am not sure if I am using that word right.

i'm not so big on using the McFarlin saturation levels on all colors LOL but using black as a background color is appealing
