patrickballesteros #tbt to one of the first pieces I did when trying to discover my style. Just like Mega Man as a young artist you have to battle a lot of things when learning. The big thing is to always experiment and to never think of a bad drawing as a failure but more of an iteration on how to to get better. Stick to it, style happens over time so don’t rush or chase it. Keep on leveling up friends!

jscottcampbellart The Historic SPAWN #300 is only a couple of weeks away! Here’s a glimpse of the original concept sketch I used to pitch my cover concept to @toddmcfarlane . It’s often challenging to recapture the initial edgy and designy vibe and energy of an initial sketch! I’ll often keep these rough sketches out while drawing the final so I don’t lose sight of the more simplistic blocked out shapes and strong lines in the final, which can often turn out soft and unnecessarily detailed if you’re not careful. Swipe through to see how big this initial sketch is at the start as well as all 3 variants of the final covers, the B&W (N), the virgin (M) and the Standard tradedress (G). Todd actually suggested adding the easter eggs of the additional characters, an idea I loved! And @psteigerwaldart ‘s colors brought the entire look and feel together beautifully! And don’t forget, there’s a 9 page interior chapter by Todd, Myself and Peter!

larrytoons54 These two 60s Jack Kirby covers and stories, my personal favorites, introduced two new fantastic concepts into my youthful world and set my young imagination and enthusiasm into overdrive! Thank you Jack (excellent art and plot) and Stan (excellent dialogue) for inspiring a generation!

brandondavisbd The world’s largest comic collection at the University of South Carolina! More than $2.5 million worth, 143,000 books, some nearly 100 years old. Plus, I got to flip the pages of the first appearance of Thanos! My life flashed before my eyes at the thought of damaging it. Huge thanks to @uofsc for the special tour!!

brandoneastonwriter Here's an early peek at a promo piece for DOMINION'S LIGHT - a sci-fi/fantasy hybrid one-shot comic launching on Kickstarter in late October.

Created and written by Brandon Easton (TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON - SIEGE, STAR TREK: YEAR FIVE, MARVEL'S AGENT CARTER). Illustrations by Andrew Griffith (IDW'S TRANSFORMERS, MICRONAUTS, G.I. JOE). DOMINION'S LIGHT is an inclusive, original and expansive story of a trio of treasure hunters swept into a global civil war when they discover a mystical artifact hunted by a power-mad sorcerer.

Special thanks to Ramón Govea for his assistance and Edgy Ziane for the colors in this piece.
