Questions for RP PR
1) why is it that NYCC doesn't register tickets for each individual like SDCC?

2) why no presale this year? It's getting harder and harder for NYCC diehards to attend this show.

Questions:

What are some things that you feel Reed Pop is doing well? What do you feel are areas of potential improvement?

While I know you guys don't have control on each individual booths; but is there a way you guys will counter those with Exhibitors passes that are lining up early in the showfloor, when the showfloor isn't open to the general public yet.

Say example when the showfloor isn't open yet, perhaps a ReedPop crew ( or Javits security)can dissolve any type of unofficial line they see forming by an exhibitors right away; and enforce those with Exhibitors pass not to crowd or standing roaming around at a certain booth for any type of early advantage for them. This way it can be fair to everyone who are waiting to get tickets, exclusives, or signings, and not be dominated by anyone who carries an Exhibitor badges.

This is Mike Armstrong bio from ReedPop site:

Mike is the Event & Sales Director for ReedPOP, focusing on New York Comic Con, C2E2 and Star Wars Celebration. When Mike “pup” Armstrong isn’t working, he can often be found playing with his cats, eating at Taco Bell or drinking some hipster IPA that no one other than Lance has ever heard of. Mike is not related to either Lance Armstrong or Neil Armstrong, but his Dad told him once that he may or may not have some distant relation to General George Armstrong Custer. This has served as motivation for Mike to wake up every day and try not to be such a disappointing failure. Mike is a Mets and Redskins fan, so such a letdown is pretty standard.

1. How are/can they distinguish between legit ticket buyers and scalpers/resellers? Is it worth cancelling a few resellers at the expense of a legit fan's ticket? ie we hear this is a 1% issue of resale tickets at what percentage of hassle, stress and cancels/problems to legit true fans?

2. What has NYCC done to bring back some of the recent vendors to leave NYCC like Mattel, Hasbro, etc. Are they returning?

3. In 2014 there were less cast signings than 2013, is there a plan to increase that? If so, will an online lottery be used like in 2013?

We're doing the interview tonight/tues at 6:30 et

I believe the link will be live so folks can watch along.  Leonard will be editing it & publishing the link this weekend.  I will be posting/tweeting the link out tonight! promise

i am really excited about this one guys-  I've got a bunch of SE NYC questions abt doing a comic based con in the age of entertainment con's & how the talent/fan are reacting.
we're also going to touch on the NYCC issues- perhaps not as in depth as some would like but frankly i see this as more of an introduction to Mike Armstrong with the hope we'll be able to get him back on a semi-regular basis to keep us updated.

Okay let's see...what were the ups and downs of the inaugral SE: NYC last year? And also are you planning to have a permanent home for SE: NYC? Or going back and forth between Javits North and Pier 94?

Anyways just let him know I can't wait for my first time at SE: NYC!

I just looked at the SENYC map, and it seems there's an autograph area. Does that means majority of the writers will be signing there, while artists will be at their own tables?

i've had a chance to re-watch the interview & am thrilled with the show.  We got a lot of great info from Mike A about SE:NYC

What an event manager does,
why they moved to pier 94,
what the comic talent thinks of separating themselves from the larger entertainment con's,
sold more tix ytd then for the entire event last year
why there isn't going to be a large 'styling on line' booth
largest both is 20x20
Reed pop office in Shanghai for example because of the parent company of Reed pop Exhibitions
praise for the ECCC crew
the difficulties with ticket sales
names attached to tix
how does RP target talent for their shows?
& much much much More!

Hi Alyssa, Leonard and Mike!

Great info and interview/Q&A. Thanks also for the plug and getting some of my question in. Hope the Hasbro's (and Mattel's) make it back.

Mike it was classic to see you take a drink in the background when you were minimized!  ;)
