C2E2 is offering these packages as well. Must be a new ReedPop thing.

The funny thing is, a few years ago they took all packages like this away and said that it was to be 'fair' to all fans. Now they're back. LOL...

Interesting to know that they're at C2E2 as well. I'm a little surprised that they are announcing them for ECCC less than 48 hours before the sale, though.

I think that's how the C2E2 announcement went too. Ticket sales were announced about a week in advance but I'm not sure they actually said anything about the different packages. The email I received on the 27th (date of sale) mentioned them but I think that was it.

Got my 4-day pass!
I entered the queue right at 12 and that one's still running...however I clicked on the link on their Facebook post, and that let me in right away.

This is the first time in years that 4-day badges didn't sell out in 5 minutes. I wonder if they're offering more 4-day badges for sale OR there just aren't that many people interested anymore... Still, I got my badge!

Also, this year the 4-day discount wasn't quite as good as last year. This year you save $27 vs. $47 from last year -- still decent and definitely worth it if you go all 4 days, but last year it was pretty much worth it to get a 4 day even if you only went 3 days. This year, the reduction is probably just barely enough to not be worth it if you go less than 4 days.

Also...I'm going to complain about the hotel prices again.

I haven't gone in the last couple of years, but weren't hotels typically in the $150 per night range? I took a peek and they were around $180ish. It's a bargain compared to SDCC, but still...

The waiting room was slow going at first, but once the premium packages were gone it sped up dramatically. There was definitely a lot of demand for those premium packages.

Yes...and when I started going in 2012 they were in the 100 range for most of them, with some as low as 61-65 for ones that were basic but not sketchy. Last year is when I noticed a big jump up to 170-190. My main issue with that (other than not wanting pay more) is that block hotels are no longer a good deal compared to off-block hotels. Heck, last year the week before ECCC I noticed that some of the travel deal sites were offering the Hyatt Regency (179 on the block last year) for 134-149 during ECCC dates.

4 day tickets sold out at 123:0, but now some are back in stock....  Not just a couple, but you can buy up to 6....

Update... and they're gone. Guess it was a blip.

Got in within the first minute and booked the Hotel too. Sheraton this time. I have a screenshot of the confirmation of the hotel but no email? When do we know for sure?

The explanation that ECCC provided on the Facebook page was that people, scalper bots I'm guessing, were holding multiple tickets in their cart (for whatever reason) and when the timer expired, they were released back into the pool. That's why it showed that 4-day badges were initially sold out and then not sold out when you refreshed. Still, 4-day badges lasted much longer this time around than in previous years. A couple of years ago, I logged in right at noon and couldn't get a consolidated badge.

The cart timer is only 15 minutes, so given that they first appeared as sold out at 12:30, there should have been nothing left by 12:45. I did see a few 4-day badges come back in stock after 12:30, but it was brief. I was just surprised to se 6 available at nearly 1 pm!

Yes, 4-day badges have sold out at about the 10 minute mark for the past few years, but I'm wondering if perhaps this year there were more of them. Maybe ReedPop allocated more 4-day badges and fewer single-day badges? We don't actually know for sure right now, but that might be a good question at Talkback this year!

ETA:  I just looked at the Facebook comments and there ECCC admitted that they converted a lot of single-day badges to 4-day badges this year. That explains the longer sellout time.
