In an effort to thwart sign-up spamming this year, you will be required to enter a valid credit card to complete the sign-up.

You can sign-up two times per valid credit card using the same or different email addresses.

I thought this was quite interesting. Maybe it will help with people using bulk email addresses. I guess technically people could register with each one of their credit cards if they wanted, too. They're slowly getting better.

Edit: Oh, just noticed the second line there stating you can use the same credit card with the same name twice. Weird. So I suppose I will go back and submit a second entry now.

I do think this is somewhat fairer. Their old method was basically guaranteed to get them thousands of entries from only a few people. It was really a test of who could manage the most email addresses, not a true lottery.

Interesting. I assume that you will be able to change the credit card to a different one to actually purchase the permit though? If not that throws a new wrinkle into helping other folks get spots.

UPDATE: 4/2/18

The sign-up period is now open. In an effort to stop the sign-up spamming that we have experienced in the past, this year, we are requiring that you enter a valid credit card as part of the sign-up process. YOUR CARD WILL NOT BE CHARGED, however, we will run a pre-authorization against it to ensure it is valid.

You can sign-up two times per valid credit card using the same or different email addresses.

You can find the sign-up form here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
So I guess I need to create a whole bunch of virtual credit card numbers to go with all my email addresses. ;)

I sent this question to ACE - but wanted to know if any here has the answer also - I signed up for the Comic-con Parking lottery using two of my current ACE parking accounts – each with a different credit card and email address, but with the same name.

Can I enter a third time with my third Ace Parking account that has a different email address, but same name, and use one of my credit card numbers again - that would still be just two credit card numbers for all three entries – one number for two entries and the other number for a third entry.

The reason I ask is that when I logged in using my 3rd ACE account - it didn't show the form with my account info already in the boxes like the other two entries so all I would need to do is fill out the credit card info.

While I'm not completely comfortable giving them my CC info in advance, I'm glad they addressed last years problem by doing this. Also just an FYI that you now get a confirmation to your email that you submitted the form. If I remember correctly last year that wasn't the case.

Still a little confuse... Can't you attached the same credit card to multiple email addresses or i assume its 2 identical emails per a credit card?

Yea i think I like the idea of charging the credit you submit. So no one can buy 100 one dollar prepaid cards...

For the second email with the same credit card, do they also attempt a $0.00 charge and attempt to verify the card again for the second email address?

I only checked my one credit card with the two E-mail addresses, all I got for both was a confirmation that they received my entry, nothing more.  I also did not see anything on that card plus another card.

Pretty sure you can use a different when paying for the actual order. This is mostly just to prove you're a human. But @AceParking can clarify.

A: (Ace Parking)

Yes, This is correct. You don't have to use the same card to pay.
