Oh, no, I hate using the app, it's such a battery drain. I always liked having a physical copy of the schedule that I could make notes on.

First-time NYCC attendee here with a question. What is everyone's general impression of the temperature inside the Javits Center? After 10 years of SDCCs, I'm used to the switch from the warm outside to the sometimes freezing panel rooms inside, but I'm wondering whether it's going to be the reverse at NYCC. If I dress for a cool fall morning outside, am I going to regret it when I get into the building?

I wear a hoodie in the morning and usually at some point have to take the hoodie off during the day. It's not that I've been uncomfortably hot, it's just that the hoodie hasn't been necessary, or I'm warm from moving around. But with less people and social distancing, it might be cooler inside than in normal years.

NYC weather can vary, there have been years where a t-shirt are fine and others where I wish I had a slightly heavier coat. That said since everything this year is mostly onsite (i.e. no Hammerstein or MSG) its mostly just the AM and evening you will be outside.

My best suggestion is what You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login said, have a medium sweater which you can take off inside if you get a bit warm you take it off and carry it around but then at least it isn't too heavy. If you generally run a bit cold, then maybe add a beanie or scarf for the morning/evening to keep you a drop warmer which you can then tuck into your bag without much issue.

Have an umbrella!  I actually pack my raincoat every year.  Some years didn't touch it, others couldn't have lived without it.

That's ReedPop for you.  They'll tell you it's a safety issue, but it's about money.  I have to say that even BEFORE the pandemic, they didn't have a good supply of the physical programs.    :o

None of the other conventions I've been to this year had programs either (Rose City, Salt Lake FanX, and SiliCon...though with SiliCon, they'd stopped printing them a few years ago) but yeah, I don't see how getting of programs makes thing safer in any way, shape or form. That said...although I miss the programs and don't like having to rely on my phone for everything, there is a benefit and that's that it's easier to convey last-minute changes...most cons have more of those than usual this year.

I printed out all the maps because I'm old.  ;D I also have my schedule printed out.

Turns out they did have a program guide. A Den of Geek NYCC Special Edition with Dune on the front cover.

Any folks that have gone into this already have experience w/bag check? I'm trying to think of ditching a backpack tomorrow and just walking around.

The bag check goes pretty quick. If you need to leave during the day and want to come back later, be sure you have someone scan your badge out so you can come back in.

They showed Ghostbusters Afterlife during the panel today… I feel bad for the people behind me who bailed in line because they thought it would just be the panel.
