« on: March 14, 2013, 11:39:01 PM »
Does anyone think there's still gonna be a twilight panel/ twilight crowd since the last movie has already been released?

Typically, the focus is on the future not the past (unless there is a blu-ray/dvd release tied to it).  And even then, I would not expect any of the stars to show up for something like that.  Heck, even movies released the week before or the week of don't have any presence at the con.

The cast didn't seem overly excited to be there when the movies were due for release. Can't think they'd be too enthusiastic now the franchise is well and truly behind them.

Well the Host is coming out soon. The preview kind of looks like the twilight story. I think it's about a human and alien that fall in love. If I got it wrong sorry, don't tar and feather me. My wife read the book and told me what it's about, but it went in one ear and out the other.

Actually the Host is really good, and much better than Twilight. It's a story about an alien race who are 'worms' that inhabit other species. So they see humans as being 'hosts'. They literally implant themselves into the human race and take over their lives. So the world continues, but with these aliens controlling all of the people. The story focuses on a woman who was one of the few non-implanted humans remaining. At the beginning of the story, she has been captured and implanted with an alien. However the human woman's will to survive is so strong that she battles the alien for control of her mind. The story is really about how the two learn to co-exist, and the way the alien interprets what was formerly human society. The romance, such as it is, is secondary to the plot.

IIRC, the Host is coming out around the time of WonderCon. If there is a Host panel at WonderCon, my daughter and I will definitely be going to see it!

LOL! Actually, the glow in the eyes is purely a plot device, so that the implanted humans can easily be differentiated form the non-implanted humans.

Need to know incase it happens. Remember the aliens from Signs. You had to destroy them with water.

You can destroy them any way you would normally destroy a human being. ;)

Well cool, I'm not a panel person but maybe there will be less campers in line this year without all the twilight peeps there.
