This is my kinda thread!!
Anyone here playing Terraforming Mars? Holy crap. It's my groups new game and I'm having a real hard time wrapping my head around it. So challenging. Tough game. Liking it though.

Is that the one with massive amounts of tables and spreadsheets? My husband was playing that for a while, but it made my head spin.

Register or Login It's ranked 4 over all on best board game list at boardgamegeeks. I don't know how it's got a difficulty index of just 3.24/5. Maybe I'm just stupid lol.

Okay, I just checked with my husband and the super complicated one with multiple spreadsheets is called Leaving Earth.

He has also played Terraforming Mars and enjoys it. He's more the 'strategy game' type and I'm more the 'simpler, co-operative games' and the RPG type. Games we have in common are D&D, Gloomhaven, Harry Potter and the Battle for Hogwarts, Fluxx, Talisman, etc.

Oh dang, yea Leaving earth looks mad complicated lol. I usually play strategy with my group. We do some RPG co-op, but mostly strategy. The typicals like Catan and Smallworld, but then some less well known ones like El Grande (which I love). I use to play mostly CCG's when I was young but got tired of the pay to win, never ending expansions cycles you'd get trapped in. My group just likes to get together in my garage with a couple good cigars and a good bottle of scotch and play something that can be played with a buzz lol (read not to hard). My wife then plays party/word games with the other wives in the kitchen. lol
