WONDERCON 2017 TOUCAN TIP OF THE DAY! #13: World Premiere of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract at WCA 2017!

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

(bold = mine)

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment continues its annual WonderCon tradition with the premiere of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, the next DC Universe Original Movie, on the evening of Friday, March 31, 2017 in the Arena of the Anaheim Convention Center.

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract will screen at 6:00 PM in the Arena, followed by a panel discussion featuring Sean Maher (Firefly/Serenity, Batman: Bad Blood), the voice of Nightwing; Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) as Raven; Jake T. Austin (Wizards of Waverly Place, The Fosters) as Blue Beetle; Brandon Soo Hoo (Tropic Thunder, From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series) as Beast Boy; Kari Wahlgren (Phineas and Ferb, Legion of Superheroes) as Starfire; and Stuart Allan (Batman vs. Robin, Batman: Bad Blood) as Robin/Damian; plus director Sam Liu (Batman: The Killing Joke), supervising producer James Tucker (Batman Bad Blood, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders) and character designer Phil Bourassa (Justice League Dark, Young Justice). Additional panelists will be announced as confirmed.

Inspired by the 1984 DC story arc from Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract finds the Teen Titans-Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, Blue Beetle, Robin and the just-returned Nightwing-working as a cohesive team in their never-ending battle against evil. But their newest teammate, the mysterious and powerful Terra (voiced by Christina Ricci), may be altering that dynamic. Meanwhile, an ancient evil, Brother Blood (Gregg Henry), has awakened, and familiar foe Deathstroke (the late Miguel Ferrer) is lurking in the shadows — both waiting to pounce. Ultimately, the Teen Titans will need to battle their enemies and their own doubts to unite and overcome the malicious forces around them in this twisting tale of intrigue, adventure and deception.

An encore presentation of Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (without an accompanying panel) is slated for Sunday, April 2 at 3:15 PM in the Arena.

Stay tuned for our complete WCA 2017 Programming Schedule on Friday, 3/17!

WONDERCON 2017 TOUCAN TIP OF THE DAY! #14: Important Programming Reminders for WCA 2017!

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

We’re about to announce our complete WonderCon Anaheim 2017 Programming Schedule (on Friday!) and with that in mind, here are some important tips to consider while attending programs.

All event and program rooms have limited capacity as set by the fire marshal. Even though your badge is needed to get into all events, it does not guarantee you access to any event if the venue has reached its capacity.

Rooms are not cleared between events. Events run pretty much back-to-back. The Arena is the one exception, where there is a scheduled break between panels; however, we do not clear the room there, either. The break time is for people to move in and out of the room in between panels, if they decide to leave and free up seats for other attendees.

Most of our rooms fill up for each event, so when you sit down, please move into the row and don’t leave empty seats. We discourage you from saving seats for friends and family, because if the room is full, it will be closed and they might not get in if they’re farther back in line or just arriving.

Please do not stand in our programming rooms; find a seat, if available.

Be courteous to your neighbors. Remember you’re all there for the same reason. We all love this stuff just as much as you do!

WONDERCON 2017 TOUCAN TIP OF THE DAY! #16: Know Where to Line Up for Panel Rooms 300AB, 300DE, and the Arena

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

At WonderCon Anaheim 2017, three panel rooms in particular, 300AB and 300DE (on the third level of the Anaheim Convention Center), and the Arena (adjacent to the Hall A side of the Exhibit Hall on the first level) will play host to some of our biggest events of the weekend. And accordingly, we expect these panels to be in high demand. If you are planning to attend any of the panels that will be in these rooms, you’ll want to know beforehand when to arrive and where to line up.

Rooms 300AB and 300DE

While we have attendees line up in front of the door and along the wall at many of our panel rooms, things work a little differently with 300AB and 300DE. These two large rooms are each adjacent to a smaller room, 300C, which we will be using as a holding area for the lines for these rooms. This means that when you pass by 300AB and 300DE, it may look as though there is no line, so if you find yourself circling around trying to figure out how to get in, check in 300C. Volunteers stationed in 300AB, C, and DE will be able to help you figure out which line you need to join and which doors you can use. See the map below for the exact location of the lines area for these 2 rooms. A version of the WCA 2017 Quick Guide (part of the Program Book) will be uploaded to the website as we get closer to the event.

Arena

For our largest programming room, the Arena, which features some television and movie programs over the entire weekend, and the Masquerade on Saturday night, the lines begin in the morning in Hall A and continue into the Arena lobby. If you’re heading to the Arena first thing on any of the 3 days, head to Hall A to line up.

Just like Comic-Con, every panel  I want to see is opposite another panel I want to see. They task me, they task me.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Outside of the Riverdale panel on Friday, there is nothing for me that is a 'must see'. I suppose if I were into Gotham or Lucifer I'd be more excited.

The generic 'WB movie panel' may, or may not, have something interesting.

Indeed. Will WB deliver something decent or will it be meh? I know the last time it was in Anaheim, the stuff they showed was weak. I can't remember last year in LA but I believe it wasn't great too.

I can't remember last year in LA but I believe it wasn't great too.

Last year in L.A. on Friday, they had "Containment" and "iZombie."  Then on Saturday they had "The Conjuring 2" and "Lights Out."

Sad there's no iZombie panel this year. Also kind of disappointed with the sparse number of interesting panels to see this year. Oh well. At least I have Prison Break and Agents of Shield panels to look forward to. The WB movies panel on Saturday may be promising. I googled which WB and DC movies are coming out this spring/summer and found these: King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (by Guy Ritchie), Wonder Woman and Dunkirk (by Christopher Nolan). With WB New Line, I only found Annabelle 2 and It. I assume the other dramas and comedies released by WB wouldn't promote their movies at Wondercon.

I see several panels the look great. I haven't watched Riverdale yet, but I see Madchen Amick. I guess she's as close as we will get to some Twin Peaks action!
