Was disappointed that a lot of the big companies didn't show up, such as Dark Horse and DC. The only booth with swag was Fox and they seemed to only have posters.

WonderCon has never really had swag.

At Talk Back they said DC didn't have a booth because they are in the middle of moving their offices from NYC to LA and aren't doing any conventions in April b/c this is their moving month.

Don't know why Dark Horse didn't come.

Last year had some great swag and posters available at those 3 booths so I was really disappointed this year. Studio presence was very lackluster this year too.

I agree, it's odd, because they had a large booth at ECCC the weekend before.

Or then again, maybe that's why they weren't at WonderCon.

Agreed. I have a feeling that Dark Horse was not there since they were at ECCC not that long ago. Schedule wise and money wise probably did not make sense. For DC, at the Masquerade, they mentioned that as well. Sounds like DC will be back next year. I do wonder, however, if Marvel will be there, since WonderCon will be in LA. Been reading articles about the move, and most do say it opens the door for surprise guests and companies--like Marvel--to visit the con, due to it being closer to Hollywood, etc.

Btw, when do you all think we will know how many people attended this year's WonderCon? At least the best estimate?

I read an article in the Los Angeles Timea that put the estimate at 60,000.

60,000 sounds quite decent.  What was the attendance when WonderCon was in the bay area?

It was close to 50,000 in 2011, the last year they were in San Francisco.

Just read an article in the OC Register about Wondercon moving to the LACC for 2016.  The article also had the 60,000 attendance figure as well as an estimated $32 million economic impact on the city of Anaheim.  A far cry from the numbers cited for Comic-con's impact on the city of San Diego.  Hate to say this, but perhaps Anaheim expected more and decided not to try harder to accommodate an early spring schedule for Wondercon.

I would say this is exactly why DH was not at WC.

I had fun this year at Wonder Con. It wasn't my favorite  but I still had fun. Friday I went to the Salem panel and I got a pic with Shane West and Janet Montgomery. Sat I got a San Andreas signing then went to the Felicia day  and The Last Ship panel. Sunday I went to the Nerdist panel and Chris Hardwick signing and then I spent the last few hours of the con at artist alley and found some artist that I really liked. Hopefully they will be back next year.  I was disappointed in the WB booth. I thought they would have a smaller version of the booth at comic con. They could of at least given out something for San Andreas or izombie. The only free thing I  got was a tshirt from The Last Ship panel.

Nice!  Really hoping Salem will be at SDCC this year.  Great show!  Chris Hardwick and Felicia Day are always a win.  :)

Went to those two panels as well and both were fun. Glad I was not the only one.  :)
