My husband got in instantly but he took his time submitting the information. Got an email today but not top 6. I don’t think it’s based on time of submission.

This aligns with my theory. I think, form submission is a sorting variable even though they've never said that. My friend got in before me but submitted way after me (almost to the point of me yelling expletives asking why he is taking his sweet time) and never got placed.

Got our first choice -- Embassy Suites -- BUT it gave us a king, instead of the two doubles that we picked. I know for the other hotels, this is a typical assignment (king bed + sofa bed for 4 adults), but we purposely picked the 2 doubles and the column on the CCI form even says the king is N/A for "2 adults, 2 beds", and we had a quad occupancy. I've already been on the phone with OnPeak and they submitted a support ticket for us to have it changed, but not feeling confident that will help.

Could they offer a roll away bed in case you don't get 2 beds? Good luck! We have nothing yet room wise. Last year someone had an Omni room so I grabbed it. They did not have 2 beds but we had a roll away (it was just my son so he was ok with it). Keeping fingers crossed for you.

That makes absolutely zero sense and would also be a nightmare for OnPeak themselves. I suspect the CSRs (or their managers, more likely) are making sh*t up again.

What, OnPeak would lie to us and make stuff up?! They would NEVER do that!  ::)

There's no way they are based on submission time.  I had two submissions that I did.  The first one accessed at 9:00:59 and was submitted around 9:04.  The second one accessed at 9:01:01 but I didn't even start filling out the form until I finished the first submission.  The second one was submitted at 9:09:09.  Both submissions got MGH.

We've stayed there -- had 5 at breakfast with no problem.

Thank you, @comicconfamily ! He selected  most of the breakfast-included hotels on his form to ease his family's first trip.

Edit: was a King Bed.

That really sucks.  I have the feeling that onPeak just ignores the room types now and puts people into anything that is available.
By the way, they did remove the header "2 Adults, 2 Beds" for this round.  Currently the form lists the column as "1 Adult, 2 beds - 2 beds not guaranteed".
Hopefully you can get it changed now, or can change it when you get to the hotel.

HOW?! I mean, awesome for you. But I got in at 9:05 and my mom at 9:02 and neither of us got anything. There never seems to be any rhyme or reason to this mess.

Now that people are going to be exchanging rooms, I can't seem to find the step by step instructions on how to do it.  Where are they posted?

Got in instantly(my queue waiting screen turned into the bar screen and then to the official form, all within 1-3 seconds). I was on mobile and the time I noticed on my computer was 9:00. Got none of my top 6, got another downtown hotel.  My submission time was 9:06 because I didnt have autofill setup on my mobile. I think they changed something this year.

What was the other hotel that you got.  I'm trying to write down all the hotels people got.

My access times were 9:00:59 and 9:01:01.  There's a huge difference between 9:01 and 9:02 in terms of downtown hotel availability.  Submission time is what doesn't matter.  I'm saying I got into two forms at almost identical times (9:01) and one was submitted at 9:04 and the other 9:09 and they both got the same thing so submission time doesn't matter.

It's starting to look like the cutoff was around 9:01:15 or 9:01:20.
Have we seen anyone get a room with a later verified timestamp?

I *really* want to believe this. But I’m highly skeptical. Why have two waves anyway? Or why not Wave 1 — all downtown, Wave 2 — leftover downtown and the rest?

But I’ll cling to that hope.

That may be true.

Need time to process nearly 2000 rooms and CC

I feel deflated and mentally exhausted. I saw the walking man for a few seconds and he ran quickly to the end, and I got access to the submission page around 9:00:40. Submitted my requests by about 9:03. No email.

My wife got in about 9:03 and submitted at 9:06. No email.

I've been unproductive at work and haven't been able to concentrate all morning. Ugh!

I got in 9:01on my phone but don't know the seconds. I didn't submit till 9:09 since working on my phone is difficult.

I got the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. Not my top 6...or my top 20 either. In fact never heard if it till today.

Damn. I should have submitted faster.

A lot of these results aren't adding up -- lots of people getting emails and downtown hotels who reported getting in well after those who got in within a minute. The only explanation is that OnPeak and CCI issued incorrect guidance when they said that they rank based on when you got access to the form -- it must be that they're ranking based on form submission.

Maybe, but seems unlikely. I took 6-7 minutes to fill out my first form and still got something. I certainly wasn’t speedy by any means.

Maybe they are throwing darts to decide?
