Add Twitter a few weeks before Comic Con then delete it after. It's soooo worth it. Off site announcements, party announcements etc. It was an invaluable resource for me and I'm not a regular tweeter either.
Now I remember, twitter wouldn't let me turn on SMS notifications. Thus I missed out on everything while SDCC was going on.
There is a thread for best moments of SDCC 2013, but since my best and worst moments of 2013 happened at Nerd HQ I'm putting it here.BEST: Running into Zac outside Nerd HQ on Thursday after Psych panel, getting picture with him. He's so nice!WORST: Got in the photo booth with Zac and my friend on Sunday morning, and got this kind of weird vibe from him. A couple of hours later was the Tom Hiddleston panel when Zac was talking about people on Twitter complaining about not being allowed into the Nerd party. Well guess what, I was one of them, and I suddenly had this horrible feeling that he recognized me from my Twitter pic. Feeling backed up by the fact that I looked at Twitter and only saw one other complaint. Sigh. So now Zachary Levi will never be my boyfriend. My husband will be so relieved.
I wasn't upset by what he said, and what I tweeted wasn't too bad either. I totally respect what he said about the parties, it was just frustrating that they didn't really put that info out there, so no one knew what was going on there any given night. I really liked how Geek & Sundry put their schedule up in their web site, and something similar for Nerd HQ could have helped avoid confusion.
Nerd HQ raised $215,000 this year!
