No kidding. ;__; NYCC had a good list of exhibitors and artist alley participants last year.

Alas, if I had the money to travel around, I'd definitely go to more cons. *laughs*

I'm seriously thinking about going to NYCC.  Maybe I'm still on my SDCC high?

Has anyone gone?  Any perspective on it vs. SDCC would be great to hear.

well, i just reserved a studio apt close to the Javitz for NYCC.  Husband didn't raise too much of a stink but that could be because the *very next day* after i got back from sdcc, he had a new bike delivered (and he doesn't buy cheap bikes).

NYCC has announced the VIP packages here;

the regular 4 day pass is $85, the entry level VIP pass is $190.... debating.

Sounds nice, but hotels in NYC are pretty expensive

yeah, and most of the hotel rooms only have one bed so you can't do 4 people per room
that's why i got an apartment.

I got a room at the Fairfield and it has two double beds.  I'm using my points, though... which means my friends have to be really, REALLY nice to me.   ;D

NYCC just tweeted a little while ago that they have 10 VIP limited access badges left before they sell out.  If anyone wants one that hasn't purchased, now's the time!

i just got my badge for this so i'll go a few of the days. i dnt really feel this con like i do SDCC, maybe if they can somehow beef-up their offsite presence I'd be more into it but all there is in that area are apartments, warehouses, and the hudson river.

you'd think with all of the events taking place there NYC would have placed a subway station there years ago, or at least a one stop shuttle going there from Penn station like how they have going from GCT to time square.

you have to walk a few blocks to get to anything good let alone somewhere to sit and eat that isnt convention food, and all of the after parties are so spread out all over the city that it makes hopping from one to the next very difficult and/or time consuming.

Still no full exclusives list yet or a schedule. On their official page there's a spot to sign up to be notified of when their new app with all that info will be available. It's not as big as SDCC but that actually means a bit less crowded/hectic/crazy as SDCC. The offsite events are pretty much non-existent but there's usually so much to do at the con who really has the time. Plus it's New York so there's always something to do
