Anyone feel like this year was a little easier to get tickets as more people was disappointed of this years comic con and dropping out.
I didn't know that buying groups didn't open this year. What happened?
Definitely easier this year for the folks working in groups. Can’t tell if returning attendee population participating in the PreSale is lower due to two consecutive lackluster cons (2018 & 2019), but I suspect it is a major factor.
Anecdotally, I know of a group of 6-8 who decided to not go next year, after having gone for the past 5-6+ years or so. The general feeling for them is they’re burnt out, and the hassle & stress of badges, hotels, lines, and prices just wasn’t worth it anymore. They’re big Hall H folks, so I can imagine the quality of programming lately also played into it.That being said, I doubt the demand during Open Reg will be any less. For every person who’s done with SDCC, there are three more chomping at the bit to get in.
And I've noticed the comments on SDCC's page about people who can't get in have become more subdued. SDCC will still be gigantic for quite awhile, but I really do think that in 3-4 years, we could see it no longer immediately sell out.
