This show stopped making sense many seasons ago. Nothing is logical, the people don't act like rational human beings and the zombies are more of an annoyance then a mortal threat. It's just a glorified soap opera. And judging by the poster in the subway and based on Ezekiels anti-cop rant it's about to get "woke".

I had a hard time figuring out how Eugene et al got out of their cell.  Maybe that will be explained later?
Also, Maggie's on again off again accent just bugs me.

I think they tried to do that when Princess showed her phenomenal memory and powers of observation.  Although the scenario they brought up still begs the question of how they got out of the cell in the first place to take advantage of it.  I don't expect them to explain it later.  Like many things in TWD, just go with it.

That's a good point about getting out of the cell!

I was surprised by the number of callbacks to previous seasons in this episode. How many did you guys find? Any that I missed?

This week's episode was lackluster, and it felt like the Reapers weren't nearly as much of a threat as they had previously been portrayed to be.

What did everyone else think?

Your review is really on point.  I hope next week is a little more satisfying.

I do as well. there certainly has been some inconsistency this season and in Season 10C, but I'm hoping that the payoff is worthwhile.

Regardless, we are so close to the end now that I'm invested, and I also want to see how the ending plays out, as compared to the comics.

Yeah, I've fallen _WAY_ behind on this series, but I am admittedly curious to see where this ends.  I thought that the comics ended on a kind of bittersweet, as-serene-as-this-series-gets way that _could_ be replicated mostly for the series.  IDK what's happening with the movies; I know the official word from Greg Nicotero is "we're working on the scripts" but that could very well be code for "it's kinda dying on the vines."  It's not uncommon in Hollywood to let projects die in development: if the studio doesn't get a script they feel is worth the investment, it's easier to continue letting it stay "in development" and let it slowly fade away.  I haven't paid much attention to TWD ratings so I don't know if this show is still the juggernaut it was even just a few years ago.

I hope this season ends well.  I've read the end here is 3 8-episode arcs: a sort of 'zombie trilogy' which is kind of interesting plotting-wise.  Every character needs to have a conclusion to an extent, and while I think the show has lost A LOT of juice over the years (particularly when Rick left - I really don't think Carol & Darryl are solid enough characters to carry the weight of the series, popular though they may be) I do hope they stick the ending.  I know AMC won't want to completely give up their cash cow and end the series with finality, but I hope these characters get a satisfying ending.

Regardless, we live in a world where a freaking zombie series was the hottest thing on TV: something my younger self would _NEVER_ have dreamed possible!

They're definitely bringing in storylines... but mostly more recent ones, as seen in last night's episode.

Last night's episode was better, and showed more of the Commonwealth.
