Wow.  Funko, Toynk, Bandai, UCC, and Figpin all confirmed for Special Edition in November! I'm really surprised some of these companies are coming out considering a few of these guys cited health concerns as a reason for not coming out to New York Comic Con in the next month.

Although providing exclusives doesn't necessarily mean they'll be attending.  I hope they do but would also be a kick in the but to those attending NYCC.

sorry if the way i said it was too harsh but just saying that some people attending NYCC may be bummed if only a month later big names like Funko that decided to skip NYCC decide to have a booth at turkeycon. at this point i'm attending both so i won't be an issue for me but i could see how others may feel.  either way i hope things normalize as soon as people feel comfortable and it's safe to do so.

I highly doubt Funko will have a presence at CCSE.  For one, it’s nit a normal con for them.  But also, ECCC is a weekend after, and that is one that Funko attends, and it’s in their home city.  I doubt they’d be doing exclusives two straight cons.

The new qualifications were intentionally soft. Basically, it says if you're worried that you are at risk, you can get the shot.

Right, but what I’m saying is why would Funko come up with a whole different set of exclusives that they have to pay employees to travel and sell over a holiday weekend when you’ve already got a con where you usually have a booth and sell exclusives the following weekend in your home town, where you don’t have to deal with travel arrangements or holiday madness?

I doubt Funko is going to CCSE. I expect the exclusives to be Toucan-themed and being sold at a CCI booth.

An unknown is the Mike Becker factor.  He lives in San Diego and has been involved at CCM events in the past.  For comic-con@home this year, he donated "SDCC Shrine 2021" pops that were given away at the SDCC blood drive.

It is possible for Funko to have a presence at Comic Con Special Edition, given the founders' tie to San Diego and the physical store in Hollywood can provide staffing and logistics supports for the event.  Also, I can see Funko offering exclusives to commemorate the opening of the Comic Con Museum.  It is too good of a marketing opportunity and concentration of Pop culture fans for them not to show up.

Perhaps. But I just don't see Funko sending workers to CCSE before and after Thanksgiving during that con week. I can see Mike Becker going, but not Funko in general. Of course, we have the ongoing pandemic too.

Funko already said they will not have a physical presence at CCSE.  They haven't even announced their NYCC pops.

Their stuff was too late for SDCC, they did Funkon and then still did not have everything.

My guess is they had a Toucan planned for SDCC, maybe a DC character holding a bag and such that they withheld from FunKon for the use of CCSE.

CCI will have them at a booth, just like Reedpop has the pigeon and the rat.

With shipping logistics right now there is no way they could magically have stock for last-minute con.  They plan this stuff out at minimum a year in advance.

It's all supply chain management.

This may not be an SE exclusive but.... did anyone else notice the very last paragraph of the Museum email re the Red variant Toucan?

Quote
The Committee of One Hundred has created a GoFundMe campaign to raise $20,000 for paint and other materials needed to complete the job. Donations of any amount are welcome, but if you donate at least $25, you will be entered in a random drawing to win a Limited Edition Red Variant Astronaut Toucan Funko Pop!. If you give $50 or more, you'll get a vintage, collectible Comic-Con pin and official tote bag.
