So it looks like the Riverdale panel was cancelled.  :(
Nothing in Hall H in the morning.

I'm trying to figure out how many people that Funko panel will bring in...

2 things caught my eye on this day.

1: The 11:30 panel for Oni Press either needs to be updated or will be cancelled as the two listed individuals (James Lucas Jones (Oni Press publisher) and Charlie Chu (Oni Press VP of creative and business development) ) are no longer working at Oni. So who knows whats going on now.

2. The 12:45 Buzz Lightyear movie screening. I can't recall a movie that was just released in theaters being screened so soon in a room at Comic Con. If they were going to screen something this big, I would have figured it would be in the Ballroom 20 or maybe even Hall H. Still kinda surprising seeing it on the schedule.

It is my understanding that the movie has not done well. Perhaps this screening is to get audience feedback or create more Buzz? (I know, bad pun, but I couldn’t help myself….)

Sundays I usually attend the first 3 panels/showings in 6BCF which in the past have nearly all been premieres of direct-to-TV (but movie length) Scooby Doo, Lego, DC Superhero Girls, DC Animated non-Universe video, or some combination of those (I.e. Lego Scooby-Doo), usually with a panel although a few of them have been a screening without a panel.

So I’m trying to wrap my head around what I’m currently seeing in the first 3 6BCF spaces. I suppose a Kim Possible related podcast fits in, but I never watched the show. The Lego panel is only one hour so it looks more like a panel, maybe with some assorted clips, rather than an actual movie. If it turns out to be like the DC Animated thing at WonderCon where they didn’t play a movie (or even a full episode) but went out of their way to attempt to tie it into the tradition then I’ll be disappointed. But I don’t know what to think of that Lightyear screening. It looks like just a screening, no panel. It might be cool. But it’s still showing at theaters. I like watching premieres at Comic-Con but while this is current, it’s not a premiere. Do I want to block off 2 hours of Comic-Con time watching something I can see this week at a theater? (Probably yes, since I don’t see anything else I want to watch at that time.)

That's funny because this ComicsBeat article mentions they will have no booth BUT will have programming. This sounds like a hot mess in the background. A shame too since they were supposed to celebrate 25 years.

And now the other shoe drops. Too bad. They were gonna celebrate 25 years too at the con. If I see any Oni Press books on the show floor, I may pick them up now, cause who knows what the future holds.
