Out of curiosity, did you pick larger or smaller hotels (or a mix) for your top-6?

Well as I said I got into the form before 9:01 and was done before 9:03, didn't get exact times because it was on phone first so I just rushed through. As far as hotels in order I had, MMM, Hard Rock, Palomar, Hilton Gaslamp, Hilton Bayfront  and Omni. Then selected place in closest to convention center and didn't do any non-DT. Now I was booking as a single so maybe that played a factor but seems odd that can be in nearly immediately and not get a single one of top 6 especially Palomar since it is almost never one people have on want list.

Did anyone that got in late (like after 9:03) receive an email? Just curious. I reviewed about 10 pages of this thread, but didn't see that any late folks received an email.

I was granted entry to the form at 9:04 and I did not receive an email today.  (Guess it's looking like next week at this point.)

I wonder what the point of breaking the notifications into two groups like this is.  If people from the first group cancel out of their hotels, I hope those become available to the second group.)

I believe, OP offered the prime hotels to a group today. it would follow that whatever is not locked down by Friday will get rolled over to the the 8th group

I just received my confirmation email from onPeak that my credit card was successfully charged.  So that's one less thing to worry about!

I only saw one person on twitter who said they got in at 9:03 and got an email. Everything else I saw was under 2 minute submission.

If it's the same tweet I saw, the person didn't specify whether 9:03 was their submission time or admission time.  We have to be careful of the difference and many people can be confused or have poor memories.

My credit card was just charged by OnPeak as well so now I can stop worrying!

(who are we kidding, I will worry until my room key successfully opens my room's door on the first day in San Diego)

I got in at 9:01:37 and I didn't get an email today. My friend got in a little after 9:03 and no email for her either. It's our first time participating in the hotel lottery but 3rd year going to comic con.

My friend and I got in within probably 30 seconds of each other. She got her email, her first choice and I still haven't heard back. But something somewhat odd happened. The reservation and email were addressed to me, and her name is nowhere on the email. I was just listed as an occupant. I'm assuming this isn't normal?

That has actually happened to me before, but last year. They used my son's name instead of mine.

I got in about 9:01 and got my 1st choice, Omni, but I was only requesting a king bed so that usually works in my favor.

Really? It just seemed strange, but clearly not much of an issue.

I got access to the form between 9:02 and 9:03. I chose 6 downtown and 1 MV for 4 nights / Single Person / 1 Bed. I even chose a 4 night minimum (Residence Inn Gaslamp) hoping it would give me a leg up since the 4 night minimum would seem to filter a lot of people out.

Alas, I did not get an email today. But from the sounds of it, there doesn't seem to be a genuine pattern apart from the majority of people getting immediate access did get an email and choice hotel.

I'm holding out hope for a downtown hotel, but when all is said and done I'll be happy to have a place to stay for the week.

Cheers,
~S

We had 3 people get in from 9:00 - 9:04 and only got one offer, which wasn't even any of our preferred hotels! From what I've been hearing from others, it seems like some people who got in first were lucky and some weren't! I'm wondering if anyone knows or could speculate whether there will still be some of the close hotels (e.g. MMM, Manchester Grand, HiltonBayfront) in the next round on May 8th or whether they will most likely be "leftovers" from what people didn't put down deposits for and/or non-downtown hotels?

I don't think I've ever been this nervous with getting a hotel for SDCC.
