So it looks like for 9:03 submission time the odds are low? Like 10% that we get a hotel at all?

When someone did the analysis last year, 85% of people who got in between 3 and 4 minutes got something and 20% of the 5+ minutes got something.  That was without a multi-step process that allows some hotels to get returned to the pool between May 1st and May 8th.

Ditto on the Tuesday arrivals.  Been doing that regularly, nice to have the chill day before spending most of Wednesday in line for Preview Night.
last year was the 1st year staying downtown, which we stayed at MMM. Only problem once we checked in, which didn't even get to settle into the room, which just went straight to lining up for PN. :( LOL

You want the city view. That looks right onto the Hall H lawn. It's awesome! The 'skyline' or 'bridge' view looks out on the Dole plant.
Thanks, looking at booking Tuesday at Bayfront right now.

Updated Question?
What bed types does Bayfront have? I noticed queen & king, do they have smaller beds options?

Are you sure? Their web site says the 2 bed rooms have 2 queens and I was counting on that. :(

I was there last year, and I remember them as queens, but I'm old.

yeah right now looking at booking a room for Tuesday it shows 1 king or 2 queen, no other bed options. That is why i asked about there being smaller bed options.

I was gifted a room by the awesome and amazing [member=283]Devorah[/member] so I have a room at the US Grant if anyone wants it.  It's not that close to the convention center but it is still considered DT hotel.  It's a triple occupancy with 2 beds.  Please message me if you would like to take it.  Ive also posted it in the Hotel Offers and have contacted a couple of people off of the Hotel Exchange/Giveaway but they had already received closer hotel offers.

I'm sure this has already been asked but I'm not sure where to find the answer.  Downtown hotels are pretty pricey ( almost $2000!!!) so to cut costs, could I leave off sun night and book the same hotel at a lower rate later?  Anybody with experience with this?

As long as there isn't a minimum stay, you certainly can, if it comes out cheaper.
Make sure you have the night book before changing your reservation as you might not be able to add it back if you need to.

Yes I just got off the phone with the Bayfront, they do not have double beds, only queens and kings. :)

i had a question, with my bayfront reservation on onpeak, the reservation is for Wed-Mon. Could I easily change it to Tues-Mon instead, doing this all online? Or should I call onpeak to change this?

You should book Tuesday night directly through the Bayfront. You will save some money. You may even want to do the same for Sunday night.

Agreed. I booked direct for Tue-Wed and Sun-Mon and it's under $250/night.

I need to add Tuesday to mine also and saw that they were cheaper going through them directly. But how do you get the same room. I don't want to have to switch rooms
