The second form I submitted I just got my email for....Westgate Hotel. This was not in my top 6 and I submitted this one at least 30 seconds after my first submission where I got my first choice hotel.

Not the news I was hoping for...I got to the form at 9:01 and didn't get any of my Top 6. Just received an email that I got placed in the Town and Country.

We have one more waiting for a placement in our group, they are unsure of their timestamp - I'm guessing it was around 9:05.

Really hoping next year that they just say "this is completely randomized", and eliminate the arbitrary waiting room.

Out of curiosity, what options did you pick? (Closest to convention, shuttle route, ...) And did you list any non-downtown hotels or just 6 downtown ones?

It seems clear that Westin is the overflow downtown hotel at this point.

Which is odd, because last year it was the MGH that was downtown overflow...

I feel like the waiting room screws over some. I'd rather everyone enter and then completely randomized there. I can't explain why, but I just feel like the waiting room isn't as random as everyone's name into a pot and then start picking.

The overflow is getting pushed further and further away. Hmmm.

The Westin is still a great hotel I think. First stop on shuttle route from convention center when you want to drop things off. Attached to the mall and a CVS.

Yeah, the Westin is a great hotel.   It's close enough to walk to (walking down 1st St.), very close to the Ralph's grocery store, pretty quiet at night and it's next to the theater of where the Conan show films, so there's a chance you can see some of the guests of the show walk into the building on the back side.   If I ended up with the Westin, I'd be happy.

Just got my email at 10:59am Pacific time for a triple at the Wyndham Bayside.  This was not in our top 6.  I'll post all my info in your thread, [member=4270]mark[/member]!

Nothing for me yet. For the record, I got form access at 9:04.

I had the Westins in my top 5 so reading about how many people are getting placed there is making me a might nervous.

There has to be more to the selection process than just submission time.  I'm guessing number of beds/roommates plays a much larger factor than people might realize.

My sister just got her email and got the Best Western neat Sea World.  Our list for downtown had only one of the big hotels (maybe two) with our top pick being the Residence Inn Downtown/Bayfront .... really OnPeak? Really?  She got in at around 9:01 am too.  This is a bit annoying....

I listed one non-downtown hotel (t&c) but chose the "closest to convention" option. Seems like selecting a non-downtown hotel was my doom.

I was feeling good about my chances this year because I got to the form relatively early. Shucks.

Got my email and scored my fourth choice! Such a relief. Got in to the form at 09:00:34 and got the email at 10:37 today.
