Which hotel did you do this for?  I have a MMM from Wed to Monday (double occupancy, 1bed) and I'm thinking about booking Tuesday directly with Marriott.  If I can get a double bed balcony view for Tuesday, is it possible to get them to combine the reservations together and let me stay in the twin bed room?  I'm assuming this needs to be done after OnPeak has transferred the reservation to the hotel?

Anything is possible. They could have last minute cancellations, but the question is whether or not it's probable.

Give it a shot when you check in.  You never know.

I also have the MMM for a separate Tuesday for a balcony room and I'm going to try to combine.  But, I'm not trying to change the # of beds.

Regarding changing a reservation with OnPeak now that the first deadline has passed---Just spoke with an OnPeak rep who told me that even if I switched my reservation to a hotel with a higher cost, I would lose 1 night's deposit.  :(

Thanks for finding that out, I had wondered.

For everyone who got a hotel, do you usually call the hotel just to make sure you there is a room for you? My gf insists I call to make sure the hotel didn't overbook and that we actually have a room. I guess it wouldn't hurt but just wanted to see what you all do. I think I read on this thread, a hotel gave someone's room away and shuffled them to another hotel further away. Also, another thing that scares me is my flight gets into SD at 12:30am on Thursday so I probably won't get to the hotel until 1am which I probably should let the hotel know, I just don't want them to mark us down as no-shows.

If you call right now the hotel will likely be unable to assist as the reservation does not transfer to the hotel until 1-2 weeks prior to the Con start. Definitely let the hotel know a few days before arrival about your flight time.

I confirmed with an onPeak rep (and I think someone also posted this elsewhere on the forum), that the hotels will not be getting the reservations from onPeak until July 7.  So the onPeak rep told me if I wanted to call the hotel to confirm, I should wait until about July 10 to do so.  I will definitely be calling to confirm because I trust what the hotel has on file way more than I will ever trust onPeak.

Not sure if this is posted in the correct place but....
I was looking at the "info" tab for the Hilton Gaslamp on the OnPeak reservation page and regarding parking it said this:

- Valet parking, fee: $42 daily
- Off-site parking, fee: $10 hourly, $35 daily
- Valet parking only with in & out privilege.
*** Two cars maximum per room. No self-parking, Garage Height 7' 4" no duallys****
*Rates subject to change without notice.

***Two cars per room!!****  People staying there may be able to offer their friends a place to park... ;)

I've done exactly this in the past. In fact I have been able to stay on the concierge level instead of moving before as well.
🔥 bad. 🌳 pretty.

I have a refundable Hotel Z reservation for July 19-24. 1 King Bed.  No deposit needed.

Does anyone want it?  Total over 5 nights is $2135.

SD just need more hotels to be built :) any sign of any new hotels being built in the next few years or any of the existing hotels planning expansions?

I thought they were building or trying to build another hotel in seaport village? It might be the same one fighting for the land against the convention center expansion though. I don't recall.. They have added a few downtown hotels in recent years like Pendry.

Forgive me for asking, but I was trying to follow what happened on Monday and it's confusing.

What happened on Monday?

Who got rooms?  What kind of rooms?  Did the waitlist work?

Monday the waitlist opened up so anyone who entered the hotel lottery got a link at 10am and watched rooms pop up throughout the day of cancellations, etc while trying to book a room or get a better room or trade rooms, etc before the cancellation deadline at midnight where you can't get a refund of your hotel deposit.

So lots of people got rooms. Rooms are still available. People are still offering rooms now as well to transfer since they can no longer get a refund on their deposit.
