Just called my hotel (Marriot M&M) and they had my reservation but no record of the 2 night deposit.  I guess i have to call on peak tomorrow and get it straightened out. I'd suggest everyone call to not only confirm the hotel has the reservation but also has the deposit.

I called my hotel just now (Solamar) to see why they charged an additional night's stay to my card on top of the 2 night deposit that OnPeak charged.

The concierge thought it was weird as well that it posted instead of being held as a pending charge.

I was informed to call back tomorrow to speak with their accounting department so we shall see...

OK strange question for you guys...  Have you ever slept 4 in a twin room, with 1 person per bed and 2 people somewhere else in the room?  I have a friend who is going to crash with us 2 nights and another friend crashing with us on one of those nights as well (giving us 4)...  Neither I nor my roommate is willing to share our beds...  We may be able to get a rollaway and bring an air mattress...  Would this work and still leave room for bathroom access?  We're staying at the San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter.  Thanks for any insight.

let us know what onpeak says about MMM not having your 2 night deposit on record. we stayed at the MMM last year and i was worried about this myself, but luckily they received the 2 night deposit from onpeak with no problems.

On my Omni reservation, it states "No Deposit Required" and cancellation without penalty up until 12PM on 7/12/17.

It seems that some hotels are requiring a deposit and onPeak is not transferring the funds in a timely fashion, while other hotels are accepting reservations without the need for a deposit.

Generally, hotels don't allow rollaway sin rooms with 2 beds. I have seen exceptions, but be prepared for this to be the response.

I'm at the Solamar too and the same thing happened to me. I just talked to OnPeak and they are escalating to their accounting department which is going to contact the hotel's accounting department to resolve. Should take 1-2 days for feedback. I would contact OnPeak immediately so they get a record of multiple people from the same hotel raising the same issue.

Cheers,

I am also at the Solamar and my credit card shows one night pending from 7/10. I'm wondering if I should call about it or wait and see until it actually charges...

I have stayed at this hotel many times with no issue. The only thing different this year (it may have also been last year) is that Kimpton was bought by IHG. Maybe they have some weird policy or glitch.

I would call them and ask if they have received the original deposit from OnPeak and, if not, contact OnPeak immediately. They need to know this issue is happening to multiple people.

I don't think the hotel is at fault at all, they are just locking down a deposit as they normally would. OnPeak are the ones that are delayed in transferring the original deposits.

I spoke with both OnPeak and Solamar's accounting dept. OnPeak claims that all the files were sent over on their end when they checked. The Accounting Dept at Solamar only show the 1 night's deposit that the hotel charged but not the 2 nights from OnPeak.
The representative did forward me to their sales dept as he says the sales dept is handling the Comic Con block for the hotel and not their accounting dept. I'm pending a call back from the sales dept as it was a bit too early and no one was in yet.

Will update you all what happens when I get the call back.

I just called MGH and they have my reservation and I obtained their confirmation code, rooms will have a fridge, but didn't hurt to request it.
I hadn't received anything from OnPeak.

Okay so I was able to talk to the Sales department at Solamar and basically they had a contract with OnPeak that they were going to charge a one night's deposit while OnPeak would charge the other night. However that seemed to have changed as OnPeak charged both nights.

The rep just said they will have all 3 nights paid on file and when we arrive, we only owe the hotel the last night's stay. Super confusing but at least I was able to sort out what happened.

Hotel Solamar here as well. They charged my CC for one night too. The Hotel said they never received a deposit from OnPeak. Talked to OnPeak and they opened up a ticket on it told me it should be cleared up before I check in. Glad I checked my CC in morning or else I could have been only finding out when I was checking out & they are closed on Sunday. Also glad to know that I wasn't the only one it happened to. I still haven't received an email from OnPeak but my confirmation number is finally listed on my account.
