Date night with the kids? Yes, it’s possible!

The San Diego Comic Art Gallery & Traveling Stories have got you covered! We’re teaming up this Friday Night Liberty to host family night for San Diego.

While kids read and earn prizes with Traveling Stories volunteers in the StoryTent, everyone is welcome to the Gallery to meet the writers of the popular comics such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Trek, Transformers, and Hanazuki. They will be signing comics and answering questions about your favorite characters and what it’s like to be a comic book writer, between 6 and 7pm.

The Gallery will also be hosting a donation beer & wine bar featuring some tasty brews from Pariah Brewery, with all profits going to Traveling Stories. Join us!

Traveling Stories is a San Diego-based nonprofit that specializes in helping kids fall in love with reading by the 4th grade. Their StoryTents offer reading support at farmers markets and malls across San Diego. Learn more at travelingstories.org.

The San Diego Comic Art Gallery is a dynamic space dedicated to sharing the joy of visual storytelling with the community.

The History of IDW Publishing exhibit walks guests through IDW’s early days to its current position as one of the largest comic book publishers in the Americas.  Visitors will learn about IDW’s very first published art book with the then up-and-coming illustrator Ashley Wood and their taking a chance on two unknown creators and releasing the acclaimed comic 30 Days of Night all the way through to IDW’s current position as a television production company and tabletop game publisher.

We are incredibly proud of Geppi's Entertainment Museum (GEM) and the countless families, tour groups, and individuals who have visited us and seen the impact of comics and pop culture on the world around us. The work done to promote the Stephen A. Geppi Collection by GEM staff, lenders, and members has allowed us to reach this point. The Museum will close to the public on June 3rd, and we will begin transferring the exhibits to the Library of Congress with the help of their team of conservation experts. The Collection will go on display this Summer at the Library of Congress’ Jefferson Building, where it can be seen by millions of visitors. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to sharing more information with you soon! See the statement on our FaceBook page HERE!

livioramondelli Unicron, painted today. This began as a recent lineart commission and I wanted to see how it would look in full color. Orson Welles might have done the voice for a paycheck, but man was it effective.
