In July, Toei and Bandai plan to bring “Dragon Ball” back to Comic-Con in a big way following the success of its appearance last year, which included the “Dragon Ball” takeover of the convention’s adjacent Marriott hotel.

That's awesome, how was the Dragon Ball hotel area last year? Free swag and stuff? Any appearances? I missed attending SDCC last year but looking forward to the extra Dragon Ball content.

DBZ was very well done last year. Tons of photo op areas and some great free swag. We didnt wait in line for any of the gaming but got some awesome pics and had a blast. Panel was amazing and was able to get into the after party that night which had even more free stuff and a great atmosphere. Even had free tattoos so I got a master roshi head tattoo. Cast was there in a roped off area but came out for pics and to talk for a bit. Cant wait to see what they have this year.

Last year we had the Dragonball North American Tour where Bandai Tamashii Nations traveled around to various shows and had exclusives available at them, capping off at the Dragonball Super Broly movie premiere in Los Angeles in December. This year the tour is going global, kicking off in San Diego this summer at SDCC again, with additional stops in Germany, China and Japan announced. There will be 8 in total.

The first exclusive for the event is a recolor of Kid Goku in his purple outfit. No word on price or quantities but stay tuned for more details as they drop. Last year there were 3 different figures available as tour exclusives, and the website does hint at more coming. Read on to check the pic in full!

I thought last years DB tour was great.  I was only in SD for Funko Fundays and walked thru the installation on Saturday before my flight home.  I've started collecting DB Funko Pops (after getting Funimation's metallic Whis SDCC exclusive) so I'm even more interested to spend some time at the installation this year.

The tour itself doesn’t sell any merch I believe. Not pop or figuarts wise at least. Last year was funny actually it was outside and they didn’t light guard the toys so half of em melted.

Not surprised by that news, at all.  It was roasting outside -- in particular on Sunday.

It was really funny I’m a huge DBZ Fan I have about 15 figuarts and about the same on pops. I went Thursday everything looked nice. Went back Sunday all the window boxes were melted; figures inside looked okay: should have asked to keep em since they were obviously gonna toss em lol

My wife and I checked out the offsite last year. Got to play Dragon Ball Fighterz. My wife is not at all into gaming, but she enjoyed playing it. We tried swooping on the free swag of the bag and lanyard, but each day we'd miss it. The workers told us they would be out of them by 10am.

Good to know, we''ll have to grab ours on the Thursday morning.

Wonder if they’ll put up some shade or something to keep their items from melting this time.

Not to mention to keep the guests cool while they browse, as well.  It was roasting last year when I went.
