Just started wondering this since WB, Hasbro, Mattel, and whoever else does the random ticket drawing would move it out of the Sail Pavilion. Seems to get crazier every year and to avoid a major problem perhaps they can move it to a hotel. Say each one can have their own room in the hotel that way it can get less chaotic. They could hire someone to start it at 5 or 6AM in the morning, that way people can get back into a line for general or Hall H. People already sleep out for this alone sometimes so the ones that do would not mind.

Do you think it would be something they ever consider? Instead of the usual everyone in one line having to go up escalator and all hell breaks loose format.

Wouldn't funneling people in and out of the hotels where people pay lots of money to stay be a bigger problem? People trying to sleep vs. people camping out.

That could be a problem, but they use to do the registration for next year badges at a hotel 5 years ago. They didn't let people camp out in the hotel but a space outside, of course the event has gotten so big it maybe a bigger problem.

Maybe hold the drawing the day before so if a show has a signing on Friday they do the drawing Thursday. Not sure any shows that are normally on Thursday do a drawing.

They have signings in Thurs. CCI discourages camping but they don't really enforce it. Yeah, they stopped doing on-site reg due to lack of space. Local businesses were complaining lines were blocking their doors and stuff. I don't know. I don't think there's going to be a good fix due to the sheer number of people.
