We intend for TwitchCon to return with TwitchCon Amsterdam in July 2022, followed by TwitchCon San Diego in October 2022. Of course, these are still uncertain times and our plans will remain flexible as needed. Our top priority while planning TwitchCon is safety, and we will closely follow local health guidelines and recommendations.

Wow; I saw A LOT of folks on twitter who were wanting those requirements, with many siting SDCC as a way for that to be (relatively) easily done. Glad Twitch is listening to their people here

Good move. In relation to it's size, I didn't see nearly as many reports of comic-con being a spreader event compared to other conventions. I think the reason for that was the mask requirement. Masking works.
There was another conference at the San Diego Convention Center a couple of weeks before comic-con. Same convention center, same ventilation, same BA.5 surge, same Gaslamp for people to hang out in, but no mask requirement. People were quite upset afterwards that there wasn't more done like a mask requirement when the reports of positive covid cases started to pop up.
