Colony - reaction
« on: January 18, 2016, 12:38:33 PM »
Watched the first episode and I found it quite interesting after the first hour. It was a bit of a slow start though but in the end I think it accomplished its goal of pulling me in.

Casting was good in my opinion.

Verdict - try it out.

I saw the first episode at NYCC and watched it again with my husband yesterday. Its still held up on second viewing. I'm curious to see where they were going. This question of 'collaborate or rebel' isn't a simple one. If I were in that situation, I don't know which way I'd go.

There is the potential for the interpersonal relationships to be interesting as well. He's beating himself up over 'his' fault in losing their son, and feels she's justified at being angry with him, yet she's the one who's really keeping secrets... I suspect that won't be pretty when it comes out. There is the possibility of some good character development here, if they play it well.

i also saw it at nycc, so this was a second viewing.  i liked it better the second time- perhaps it's because i could focus a bit more instead of being at con. regardless, i love the story dynamic, there's enough potential depth  to keep me interested & the casting seems well thought out.

it did remind me of a book i read- all tho i can't quite spit out a name

It's entertaining, I'll continue to watch it. It's kind of weird watching Sara Wayne Callies in a role other than Lori Grimes.
