Fun isn’t something one considers when preparing for Comic-Con, but attending does put a smile on my face

The D23 Disco party in LA was $50 plus a $7 service fee.  Wonder what the price for this one will be.

That one included a copy of the record as well as your skate rental (I believe).
So as this one doesn't have skates, and probably doesn't include a copy of the record I would assume less.

Why 21+?!

There's probably alcohol involved.

My question is do you have to be a D23 member to buy a ticket?

Yes I get that there will be alcohol but lots of places have alcohol and are still all ages.  Xs on the hands and boom solved.  Dont think my daughter would exactly be sneaky up for beer at the age of 5

Depends on the liquor license they have. A type 48 license restricts entry to 21+ only to the venue.

I feel like that's likely what they have at House of Blues.  I've visited House of Blues maybe a dozen times in my life both in San Diego and Anaheim and have never been at an event with people under the aged of 21 allowed in.  I did, however, get in at the age of 16 because I was a performer and there was some sort of loop hole that we could enter in the stage and backstage area under age.  It was cool.  But on the floor? I've never been to an all age event there.

Musicians/Performers are an exception from the rule. They are basically relegated to only parts of the venue necessary for the performance and no alcohol can enter, sold or consumed in those areas.

Venue does allow under 21 to select events.  Here is the info from one of their other upcoming shows:

Venue & Event Info:
Doors: 7 PM Show: 8 PM Lineup: Parachute Billy Raffoul All support acts are subject to change without notice. All ages welcome. All persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or by a responsible adult 25 years of age or older who has written authorization from a parent or guardian.

I wonder if the liquor license stipulates certain exceptions like how I was allowed in under age as a performer?  I'm not too terribly familiar with how liquor licenses work, but if there was one loophole for me, there could be another. As I don't know for sure how it works just throwing out the idea that maybe if they shut down the alcohol serving area, maybe they can host all age events.  But who knows.  Carlo, you seem familiar with the licenses.  Any insights on what would allow some exceptions?

IIRC there’s a separate floor to segregate the minors from the alcohol. Maybe D23 didn’t rent out that floor and only the ground floor which is 21+
