I still haven't gotten any word on whether I'm approved or not.

Do they send rejections?

How long am I supposed to wait before they tell me?

My wife and I were just talking about this. How many applications do you think they get every year for renewals and new industry? And how many do you think are approved? They have to check each one individually I'd assume.

This is my third time applying.  I'm a Trade Professional and my credentials are essentially the same as the last two times when I was approved.  The only thing that has changed is the method of application.  Prior to this year, you mailed in your creds.  This time, I had to upload them.

I've never experienced it taking this long.  If they don't approve me, I can't understand why when my credentials are the same as the two times I was approved.

Yeah, I'm trying to tiptoe around the issue, and that's my fault for being a bit vague.  Yes, I'm saying at least a couple non-creative Pros (teachers) got free Pro badges, and that wasn't the case in 2019 for 2020(2022).  And I'm curious if other Pros have experienced that, if these teacher colleagues got 'lucky'/mistake, if some Pros did not get this and either got unlucky or THAT was the mistake, etc.
This is only my second 'cycle' as a Pro (teacher), and I've not paid attention to this kind of thing much until fall 2019.  So much has obviously happened since then, I honestly don't know what's maybe changed, what's not changed and I'm just not aware, etc.

It’s not a mistake. When they made the change, they also said that people such as teachers, librarians (?), and another occupation would get prioritized when it came to free badges.

“As part of our commitment as an educational nonprofit organization, Comic-Con and WonderCon welcome educators and librarians to attend as professionals. If you fall under one of these professional categories, please feel free to apply.”

To those still waiting for approval, don’t feel like you have to sit there and wait. The last time my app was in review, it was taking longer than normal. I had to send an email after waiting about 10-12 weeks. Then after I sent the email with the inquiry I received my approval. I would say always wait the complete window of time that they tell you that it will take to review the application. Then give it another week or two before directly following up. They are supposed to send you notice of approval or denial via email so don’t think because you didn’t receive correspondence that your application was denied.

If one is maybe a little shy they can frame their email to CCI as a "I might've missed your email as it may've gotten lost in a Spam filter, but I never received an approval or denial on my Pro application."  Obviously that's a bit more of a passive inquiry, but a blameless "in" that might get better traction from a human vs a more heated email.

Have you heard back yet? I'm worried their non-response is a silent rejection.

I'm glad you got your approval. I haven't received a notification. Not feeling hopeful. :/

Question - If a Pro has an allotment that includes a Paid Guest Badge - can the Guest pay for that badge with their credit card and enter their name/credit card info into the Pro's method of payment? Or does the Pro have to pay for the Guest Badge? Thanks to anyone that has an answer to this question - I did want to try to enter my credit card info and then find out that I can't pay for my Guest Badge even though the Pro I will be going with has an allotment.

I don't know.  I've only purchased the badge for my guest with my credit card while I was paying for my own badge.  I'm a Trade Pro and I have to pay for my badge also.  My guest reimbursed me.
