Hmmm.....

I'd be SHOCKED if they did not do it Anaheim or Orlando to coincide with the new lands opening. And since it was Orlando in 2017, and DL is supposed to open their SW land first - my money is on Anaheim. Which, as a West Coaster, I would love :)

Any idea when the dates would be announced for sure? I would use lots of vacation for this but I'd need to know in advance!

What if they decided to do TWO events to celebrate the SWL openings?   Spread the love from coast to coast. Just a thought.  :)
It is 2024, and I am still asking...where's my flyin' car??!! @fannishmarcia

ooh...maybe back to back weekends so we can try and book it all!! :)

I actually expected Orlando/WDW for this next Celebration since it will be the last Skywalker Saga film and WDW is just bigger. But I didn't realize they planned on opening DL Star Wars Land first.

I just want some kind of confirmation!!!

I'm looking forward to this indeed. This will make up for me missing the last time SWC was in Anaheim.

UPDATE: The latest Star Wars Celebration rumor has to do with the company running the show. In the past it has been REED POP. However, their contract is up in 2019, and word on the street is that after the disaster last year at the Orlando Celebration, REED POP is out, and Disney will be handling the show with their D23 crew. D23 is a new convention that has gained popularity the past few years featuring nothing but Disney and everything they create from animation to Marvel, you'll find it there.

Some fans I've spoken to have already sounded the alarm on this rumor, relaying their D23 experiences as worse than Celebration Orlando.

For now it is a rumor and most likely will not stop 50,000 fans from showing up and having a good time!

More as we hear it!

Can anyone fill me in on what "the disaster last year at the Orlando Celebration" that the article references was?
I gotta be honest, I will NOT be thrilled if D23 runs it instead of ReedPop.

I'm trying to follow this blog for some info You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login about D23 2017 and The Animation panel problems

Looks like a total breakdown in communication and line control for the animated panel.

D23 has prior experience with lacking both these things.

Reed Pop also had their share of communication and queue concerns at Celebration 2017.

According to a friend of mine there, this Con has been hell on Earth. She said even this morning they screwed up and let a bunch of people crash a barrier and move ahead of those who camped for The Last Jedi Panel (which she camped for).....she says she will never go to another ReedPop Con again!! :o

Just reading the complaints on social media, it seems like it was so poorly thought out.
They were never organized to handle this many people, not enough staff and security.
Plus they probably sold too many tickets.
I thought about going but I'm so glad I didn't, I'm watching all the panels live from the comfort of my own home.

If I was there I probably would have given up and gone to Epcot to drown my sorrows.

Some changes we could expect from a D23-Level Celebration:

An absence or an equivalent to Medical badges?  That was one the main complaints at SWCA I heard about in my group.

Thanks, Sam.  And not to be thick, but I don't follow what you said: "An absence or an equivalent to Medical badges?"

I was referring to early access for ADA/Medical badges.  At SW Anaheim, Medical badges could also get priority over general attendees at some of the Exhibit Hall booths.

ReedPop Celebrations, in the past had a Queue Line/Entrance to Exhibit Hall prioroty in which you enter the Exhibit Hall based on Ticket/Medical tier.

VIP badges enter first, then ADA (Medical badges), and then General Attendees.   The Medical badges can be applied for online, in advance, or at the show You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Disney/D23 doesn't have online applications, and "Early entry at our session venues is not permitted."
