ok, since i'm local too, shifting focus to getting parking LOL

As an S.D. local, my sights are usually and frequently attuned to the parking situation for con--for quite some number of years now. XD Tee-hee.

I booked Hotel Z (Staypineapple) for Thanksgiving weekend. Rooms are kind of small, but nice looking and under $150/night including taxes and fees.

It looks like the closest hotels are $600-800 when booking directly or have no rooms available (perhaps being saved for the block) but some of the hotels a few blocks away are still regular priced. Little Italy/Airport/Mission Valley are cheap. This pricing spread seems in line with a mid-sized CCI event.

Also, if Thanksgiving ends up being correct, then that makes it the week before ECCC in Seattle. I'm anticipating directly flying from SAN>SEA.

I booked Hotel Z for the heck of it too. It looks like they do have an additional resort fee of $22.50 per night though. But they're still the cheapest in the downtown area for mid quality hotels.

Also went ahead with Hotel Z Thanksgiving weekend. I figure nothing to lose at this point.

I just checked the Marriott Marquis Marina for that weekend.

No rooms available.   :)

You didn't miss much. I checked there on Monday for Thanksgiving weekend and it was $1,000 per night.

It's sold out on their website but at Priceline I see it available for $259 per night.

I am always looking for a reason to get out of town for the Holidays (don't tell my family).  So I actually am hoping for that weekend.

It is insane how Hilton Bayfront sold out for Nov 19-21 so quickly. :o I remember checking it the day of the announcement and there were plenty of rooms available, at great rates.

Oh well, I pretty much decided that attending November is not feasible for me, otherwise I would be sad about missing the chance to stay there  O0

Shoot, sorry for the false hope.  Can't say I've ever seen that before, but it never ceases to amaze me how SDCC exposes me to something new/weird in the hospitality industry.

Well that was quick.  CCI hits with a swiftness.  My fave hotels are blocked out.  Not sure I could make the trip then and then again in July anyway.  I wonder if there will be a hotel lottery.  A mini hotelpocalypse. ::)

I officially booked, found a great hotel in Gaslamp for super cheap. Luckily, before the price increase. No refunds though....so man I'm crossing my fingers. Good luck to everyone else!
