Panels this year for Hall H
« on: April 09, 2016, 02:24:00 PM »
Does anyone know which panels we might expect to see for Hall H? I know it's still too early for official announcements.

I'd assume a lot of the regulars

DC
Marvel
Fox
Sony

It really depends on what everyone has coming out that needs promo.

Given that Rogue One comes out this December, I'm betting that's there...honestly can't remember if last year's SW:TWA panel was Friday or Sat...I think Friday but not sure...either way it's prolly a sure thing to be there this year.

I remember the year they had the "Snakes on a Plane" panel in Hall H.  One of the funniest panels I have ever been to.  Samuel L. Jackson was superfantastically hilarious, and profane.  The panel was great...the movie, well...wasn't.
It is 2024, and I am still asking...where's my flyin' car??!! @fannishmarcia

Friday. I think you can bank on Star Wars: Rogue One panel at the end of the day or near the end of the day. Last year there was one more panel and they took all of Hall H over to Embarcadero Park for a Star Wars concert and totally bagged Kevin Smith's  panel which followed. I doubt they will do something like that again though.

It's hard to say what the panels will be specifically. Sometimes you don't even know til the panel b/c the company will just give a generic "Upcoming Features" description. That's part of the excitement for some though, not knowing what it will be....until it's nothing good and people feel let down.

Based on my complete lack of any information:

Thursday:
- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
- Underworld 5
- Doctor Who

Friday and Saturday:
- TWD
- GoT
- Lucasfilm - Rogue One
- Warner Bros./DC Entertainment - Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Justice League Part 1
- Marvel Studios - Dr. Strange, GotG Vol 2, Spider-Man
- 20th Century Fox - Assassin's Creed, untitled Wolverine movie. Marvel/Fox are releasing a film on October 6 2017, but haven't announced what it is. It's rumored to be Gambit or Deadpool 2.
- Star Trek - 50th Anniversary, Beyond, untitled series scheduled for 2017

Sunday:
- TV shows
What are you, Worf? Do you tremble and quake with fear at the approach of combat? Hoping to talk your way out of a fight like a Human? Or do you hear the cry of the warrior, calling you to battle, calling you to glory like a Klingon?

I wouldn't be surprised if Doctor Who didn't come. The only new episode this year will be a Christmas special, and they haven't announced the new companion yet (although maybe they will have by July).

Seriously, I would like to see something unexpected in Hall H.  I don't know what...but something other than the companies that are usually there.

Great list.  :)
Though Fantastic Beasts would be part of the WB panel. And maybe the Star Trek panel would be on Thursday, since Sat. is already packed.

I would expect Saturday to also have--
The Mummy (Universal)
Kong: Skull Island (Legendary)

Sunday TV--
Supernatural
The Vampire Diaries
American Horror Story
The Strain

Forgot to mention--
I think we're getting the Saturday night panels again for the WB/DC TV shows.

I think Spider Man is still a Sony Movie, so I expect them to have their own separate panel.  Maybe bring along Sausage Party and one of Resident Evil/Underworld to make it worth a trip.

I've tried for Hall H two years in a row. Made it on on a Thursday my first year attending and Saturday night last year. I think I'm done with Hall H except for Saturday night for the DC TV panels. I'll wait until I get home from SDCC and watch the panel vids on YouTube. I like to be the first to see and know what's coming out, but spending my ENTIRE day in Hall H is no longer worth it to me. Enjoy Hall H if you get in and share your knowledge with us all.

I'm hoping/betting Guardians 2 will be there as well.  Movie is already in production, and comes out May 5, 2017, so there won't be another SDCC or D23 before then.

I think I agree. I have watched the panels on You Tube for years now and always enjoyed them. This will be my first time to travel to SDCC and while being live in the midst of a panel sounds like fun, camping out and waiting in line for hours on end just seems anti-climatic.
Maybe if they had a better system in place for getting in Hall H...
If stupidity got us in this mess, then why can't it get us out?
