I'm really happy that D23 is so close to SDCC, makes it easier to take time off from work.

But compared to SDCC which one is better?

SDCC is better. SDCC is king. D23 is great if you love Disney (I do) and is a completely different vibe and experience from SDCC.

When comparing the two, it is apples and oranges. Both offer unique experiences that make each very different. Because of that, I like both. Speaking of which, will I do both next year? Maybe. If I did, talking mainly D23 since Comic-Con is always a yes for me, I would come from Anaheim to go to SD. It wouldn't make sense to drive back north to only drive back south a few days later. Another thing to consider is money. This type of trip will be costly.

having just done 2 back to back weekend Con's, c2e2 & WC....... do both just plan on relaxing between the con's.  Don't plan on exploring a new city, like say San Francisco.

i may explore the idea of asking for more time off so i can do d23 in addition to sdcc. depends on the family/boss attitude- how does the buy of tix work?

If enough of us go to both, we need to have some sort of meet up in the middle....and maybe a name for this event.  Like, "SUPERCON2017" or like "OMGCON" or something.  It's not like some of us meeting up at Wondercon, and then meeting up again months later at SDCC...this is like the con that doesn't actually end before the next con.

If I did D23, it would be for Marvel only. I'm not a huge Disney nerd like some people, so I'd get my Marvel fix and then head out LOL

I will be in for both. I like that they are back to back. Self employment helps, as I am asking myself for time off...lol. Although still a lot of time away from my day job...

I just booked a room at the Sheraton Park Hotel 209 a night for the weekend. It appears to be very close to the convention center. The Marriott and Hilton are not accepting reservations that far in advance yet.

Will be concerned about exhaustion... does anyone know or expect the need to camp out at D23?

I could see this working, esp. for people who like to are able to/like to take their two weeks vacation at once.

Also, I’m glad to see other conventions begin to be willing to not leave SDCC alone. 8) Whether it will actually work in their favor, who knows.

I already told my co-workers that I will be taking the time of D23 and SDCC  for my vacation, the drawback for me is I typically start my baking and food preparation on that weekend, guess I'll have to make some adjustments .

D23 camping is needed for the Movie panel but it is very worth it. You get to line up in an area that is below the hall where that panel takes place. They sell food all night and have TV monitors setup to watch cartoons
