The LEGO Group Launches New Online Safety Initiative

July 21, 2020 | Toy Association member the LEGO Group has launched a new Small Builds for Big Conversations initiative, which offers families a series of creative challenges to engage in conversations about being a good digital citizen and the importance of online safety.

LEGO has released nine free ‘Build and Talk’ activities to provide parents with simple, fun ways to talk to children ages six to 10 about digital safety and well-being through play. From The Online Explorers to The Watch-Outs, the characters built from LEGO bricks represent both the positive and negative aspects of life online.

“Safety is the No. 1 priority of The Toy Association, and just as it important for kids to play safely in their own backyards, it’s equally important for families to ensure safe play online,” said Leigh Moyers, senior manager of federal government affairs. “This is a perfect example of how our members are taking creative steps to encourage parents to have important conversations with their children about digital safety and citizenship.”

The Toy Association and its Children’s Online Safety Committee continue to be actively involved in state and federal policy discussions concerning children’s online privacy and safety including the Federal Trade Commission’s initiatives to update the 2013 Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA); legislative proposals to create a federal data privacy framework; and the recent enforcement of California’s Consumer Privacy Act. It has also developed a variety of COPPA compliance tools and training materials for Toy Association members over the years.

This is fun! And the first bunch of submission s get a comic sent to their house!
Comic Con may not be happening this year, but that’s not stopping CCI from hosting things virtually. Which really isn’t the same thing but at least it’s something. A lot of vendors are still selling exclusives but one presence that I haven’t heard a peep about is LEGO. I’m not...

You can still get a digital comic.

"Until next time"

Save that link.  Maybe returns for Metaverse in August or NYCC?
