Very interesting... that being said, these developments seem to take a long time, so I'm not sure the Harbor House is in imminent danger of being removed... But it is something to mention to the managers when we are there next July.

Whoa!  Never thought I would see the day that Seaport Village may potentially be changed.  I'd always imagine it would be there as it is.  It's a rather historical site.  As a local, how this continues to develop will be very interesting indeed.

At any rate, here's the proposal (the deal hasn't come into agreement yet, and it doesn't look like that will happen any time soon):

Quote
Under a master plan by AVRP Skyport Studios the proposal includes an aquarium; 480-foot observation tower; three hotels with 1,075 rooms, including 475 hostel-style beds; 390,000 square of retail and restaurant space; 19,000 square feet of office space; a marine institute with an educational component; and new public amenities, such as a beach, floating swimming pool and promenades. Construction is projected to begin in 2019 and be completed in 2025.

I wonder if I can use this in it. Because all of the data is very good. In that regard, I wonder.

Are you a bot, or is English not your first language?  Both your posts look pretty suspicious and irrelevant to the conversation at hand.

I remember when Seaport Village wasn't there and you just saw tuna boats  before being revamped in the early 80's to what it is today....now I feel really old. I know things must change but I will miss the quiet Seaport Village charm.

I just saw this (hi, I've been taking my usual few months break from the boards since the convention).  Oh man, do we have a contingency plan for our post con dinner?  I'm going to be bummed if we can't find a place.

It's not going to impact this year. I'll definitely be looking around if/when the Harbor House closes down for the construction.

I think I read that the project won't start until 2019.  So we have time :)

Whew, good good.  Don't take my Harbor House away from me.  It's become part of SDCC for me.

Wow, I haven't been down to Seaport Village in ages... might have to get a few visits in before the construction starts in a couple of years.

Aww, it'll be sad to see it go. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures next time I'm there.

Reviving this old thread with some recent info. I was going through my restaurant list for 2018, and on the Seaport Village Facebook page, someone asked them if/when they were closing. The response was: "There is a redevelopment on the horizon but Seaport Village will stand as you know it for 3-5 more years at least!". This was a pretty recent comment/reply.

They seemed really serious last year when they said that's it, but I'm glad we've got more time with those restaurant options. Especially staying at the MGH its great to pop over there for quick eats.
Do these tacos taste funny to you?
