Depending on what is being sold in a given year, I typically spend between $300-$500 for myself.

This year, however, Tamashii Nations will almost certainly have the re-issue of the Voltron Soul of Chogokin figure, which eats up $300 right out of the gate.  So, this could be a more expensive year for me...

Alas, that is why we work smart/hard and save :)

What is this "budget" you speak of?

Possibly related, why is my CC bill always so high?

I tend to do a lot of my Christmas and birthday shopping at SDCC and NYCC Hasbro and Mattel can set me back about $200 and another $200 in other vendors

i don't really budget for exclusives, I do budget for entertainment (drinks & food)

re exclusives- i have to see what i can't live without. Artist Editions from idw & prints from Mondo consume 85% of my money

Every year I tend to spend around 300 - 400.  I have never been able to get into the Funko booth though and that figure would be significantly higher if I ever do.

On the other hand, children can carry things and you get extra suitcases to fill up :)

Like others, my budget is really dependent on a few vendors. IDW in particular and heaven help me if gecco brings something cool. There's also been an increase in European publishers the last few years and my $ has been shifting there.

What I really have to be careful with is the $20 here, $20 there for random cool things while I am exploring the exhibit hall.

No budget.  But looking at my receipts last year between badges, flight, hotel, stuff....looks like I spent around $6k.

clicked in this post and all of a sudden i started sneezing and having allergic reaction!! budget!! *achoo!* sdcc budget! *achoo!!!*

This...this exists????

I just plan for the worst. I know exactly how much im going to eat, and what i'll need to ship back stuff and if i have to buy an emergency item like, an extra carry on, bookbag,, etc ( ;D ;D these should not be extra items, but for the sdcc person, they are!).

from that, is where the "ok, i can spend all of this on exclusives!" comes in! :D
