there is still all kinds of great art work at the shows,
a great example I saw was batman artist David Finch was doing blank cover for $75 a pop, you supply the book he draws a cool cover for it, how orginal is that
my best find I got a show was I bout a Pitt #1 for a $1 at a show, when I opened it to look at it the backing board was a Sam Keith sketch, what a find, he was at the show and he confirmed it was his work and signed the back of the sketch and signed my book

comic link auction update
the highest priced original art

the lee batman is at $6K, the McFarlin spidy cover is at $67K but the highflyer of the auction is a ASM Romita jr at $100,000

even tho, i most likely will never be able to afford 95% of these, it is great just to look at them.  I will say i've got my eye on one piece from the much lower end of the auction.  I'll post it tomorrow with results <grin>

actually not that many- i dream a lot ;)
I've posted my best pieces in this thread,  so really i've gotten maybe a half doz from comic link- most of them are not the full page splashes-  that said this is my fav. & most expensive, i think at abt $210

I just like looking at the art-

that ASM is classic! love the simplicity & focus

I love that!  I always like the hand reaching into foreground in comic book art, reminds me of Jack Kirby.

This remains on of the most brutally good hand foreshortening shots I have ever seen.

Joe Mad ... I both love and hate that guy.  He's uber talented and created one of the greatest comics in the 90s, Battle Chasers and then ... stopped.  Hate him for that.

Just saw an announcement that Battle Chasers comics and video games are in the works.   Would have included a link, but work is blocking them.
