My cousin got married on Monday and he walked down the aisle to the theme from Jurassic Park.  ;D

Also instead of bride/groom figures on their cake, they had dragons.

When my sister got married, she had us bridesmaids walk down to the hobbit/shire music from Fellowship of the Ring! She herself walked down to some music from Love Actually.

Love the idea of dragon cake toppers!

Our cake toppers were the Weta statues of Arwen and Aragorn. :)

How much might a star make for a CCI appearance? $75k in this case:

For the seventh season of GoT, Coster-Waldau made $942,857 for each of the seven episodes of the epic drama. His compensation for the eighth season was bumped to $1,066,667 per episode. The actor also got $1.5 million as an advance on a share of the show's profits plus he earned other bonuses — for example, $50,000 when the series' actors earned a nomination for outstanding performance by an ensemble for the SAG Ensemble Awards and $10,000 for the use of his likeness for GoT trading cards. Plus, he had other work: An Apple commercial (he got paid $750,000), a L'Oreal advertisement ($230,000), an appearance at Comic Con ($75,000), and so forth.

It sounds like HBO paid the $75K, not CCI.

Blah. Well, there's a really high chance I won't be doing SDCC next year because I probably have to have some pricey dental surgery. I've been so lucky to be able to go for so many years in a row, but it still bites. I'm planning a trip to Spain, and just coming to an acceptance that I'd rather let go of SDCC for a year if I can only pull off one trip.

I'm so sorry!  Dental work is soooo expensive!!  I hope it goes well, and that you have a fabulous time in Spain  :)

Uggh it really is! I'm debating in my head whether I should get a badge just in case, but I'd rather just put that money towards whatever I owe the dentist. But, then sometimes miracles happen so maybe I should try for a badge anyway.

Best wishes on the dental work! You can always cancel the badges, you'll still end up paying 10% of the original cost but you would still have the flexibility.

Thanks! and yeah, I'm really leaning towards "get badge just in case." I can always do last minute airfare and a not downtown hotel if I can make it happen.
