Anyone else know of any swag this year?  The t-shirts were nice last year.  That was last year right?  Even during in person comic-con there has been mail to the house swag before.

HWC Improves and Expands as Part of Mattel Creations!

NEWS

By Gary Barnum

We want to thank you for being our most passionate and enthusiastic fans, and we’d like to show our gratitude. We’re excited to go full throttle on Mattel collectible products with the highway ahead!

Beginning July 19, 2021, HotWheelsCollectors.com joins MattelCreations.com to provide you with a greater experience and wider access to more than ever before. Think of it as a website expansion!

First off, the intention is to make it easier for you to grab electrifying products from other Mattel brands, such as the ultra-cool editions you might have seen on Mattel Creations, the slick releases from Matchbox that you don’t want to miss, rare and highly sought-after Masters of the Universe figures, and much more.
Shopping will be enhanced with better visuals. And with access to all of our communities, if you want even more info details or help, you can ask questions in places where other expert collectors hang out. You can do all of this without creating extra accounts, or signing out and signing back in. Easier, right?

Let’s give you a kind of roadmap so you know what to expect from this change. We know you have questions, and we’ve got answers.

What URL will I need to find HotWheelsCollectors.com now? Is it changing?

You can still access HWC through the original URL HotWheelsCollectors.com – it will automatically redirect you. You can also use the Mattel Creations URL –  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login– and then access any collectible landing page from there you want, HWC or otherwise.

What about my Bookmarks to Forums, sections of HWC? Will those links still work, too?

Yes, these should all migrate as well.

Do I have to create a new account for Mattel Creations in order to continue my HWC access?

No. Your account(s) will migrate with the associated history. You will have to re-enter your credit card info next time you make a purchase, however. Of course, if you create a new account after the migration, there won’t be any history because it’s a new account! But you are welcome to do so.

What happens to my current membership?

Your Red Line Club membership will continue on Mattel Creations as normal. Per the Membership Agreement, “Your membership is good for one (1) year from the date you purchased your membership in which you sign-up or renew, unless terminated earlier pursuant to this RLC Membership Agreement.” If you have a free HWC account, it will continue on Mattel Creations as well, though it does not expire (though again, we may terminate at our sole discretion).

If I see a product that is not HWC, such as a Matchbox offer for example, can I purchase it using my HWC account*?

Yes! That’s actually one of the best advantages of Mattel Creations. You’ll have expanded purchase power without any additional hassle. Note, however, that for brand exclusive products such as RLC Exclusives, you would need to have that brand membership in order to purchase the item. Therefore, as usual, only RLC members can purchase RLC Exclusives.

How does this affect my pending orders, especially long-term preorders such as sELECTIONs and the new Preorder sale items? Will I have to update my card, and will I have to re-confirm my order?

Since the shopping platform will remain the same (Shopify), your pending orders should remain in place and unchanged. As usual, you will have to make any updates to your credit card changes, billing info, etc. whenever they occur

Will our Forums be merged with the Forums of other brands, or will we still be able to quickly and easily find the Hot Wheels subjects we’re most interested in?

The HWC Forums will remain in place, separate from our other brands. You will have access to other Forums if you choose, a benefit which can help you with other products you’re interested in or want to discover.

If you have any other questions about this website migration, please post them in this Forum: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

We can’t promise to answer every question, or immediate answers, but we’ll be watching and do our best to address your questions and concerns as quickly as possible. Your passion, patience, and understanding make it all worth it!

Mattel Once Again Says #ThankYouHeroes by Supporting First Responders Children’s Foundation and Honoring Global Frontline Medical Workers with One-of-a-Kind Barbie Dolls

Barbie to donate $5 for each Barbie doctor, nurse or paramedic doll sold* at participating Target locations during the month of August
The brand is also spotlighting six women who are modern real-life heroes of the pandemic and honoring them with their own one-of-a-kind doll made in their likeness

Quote
EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) announced today that Barbie will donate $5 for each eligible Barbie doctor, nurse and paramedic doll sold at Target to the First Responders Children’s Foundation (FRCF), benefiting the children of first responders. These dedicated heroes have worked tirelessly in the fight against COVID-19 since the pandemic began. This is a continuation of Mattel’s #ThankYouHeroes signature program, launched last year as part of the company’s broader “Play it Forward” platform, focused on leveraging Mattel’s iconic brands to give back to communities in times of need.

With over 200 careers, Barbie continues to celebrate role models, as every child imagines that they can be anything, but actually seeing that they can, and hearing the stories of others, makes all the difference.

“Barbie recognizes that all frontline workers have made tremendous sacrifices when confronting the pandemic and the challenges it heightened,” said Lisa McKnight, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Barbie & Dolls, Mattel. “To shine a light on their efforts, we are sharing their stories and leveraging Barbie’s platform to inspire the next generation to take after these heroes and give back. Our hope is to nurture and ignite the imaginations of children playing out their own storyline as heroes.”

Experts in their fields who have shown unprecedented courage during a challenging time, these six role models made a positive impact in their communities, inspiring current and future generations for years to come. The global lineup of women honored with a one-of-a-kind doll includes:

Amy O’Sullivan, RN (United States) - Emergency Room nurse Amy O’Sullivan treated the first COVID-19 patient in Brooklyn at the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, became ill and was intubated, then a few weeks later returned to work to continue taking care of others.

Dr. Audrey Sue Cruz (United States) - Dr. Cruz, a frontline worker from Las Vegas, NV, during the pandemic, joined forces with other Asian-American physicians to fight racial bias and discrimination.

Dr. Chika Stacy Oriuwa (Canada) - A psychiatry resident at the University of Toronto, Canada, Dr. Oriuwa has advocated against systemic racism in healthcare, which has been further highlighted by the pandemic.

Professor Sarah Gilbert (United Kingdom) - As a professor of vaccinology, Professor Gilbert led the development of the University of Oxford vaccine in the U.K.

Dr. Jaqueline Goes de Jesus (Brazil) - As a biomedical researcher, Dr. Goes is credited for leading the sequencing of the genome of a COVID-19 variant in Brazil.

Dr. Kirby White (Australia) - A General Practitioner in Australia, Dr. White co-founded the Gowns for Doctors initiative – by developing a PPE gown that could be laundered and re-used, allowing frontline workers in Victoria, AU to continue seeing patients during the pandemic.

"Thank you to Mattel and Barbie,” said Jillian Crane, President of First Responders Children's Foundation. “Mattel and Barbie showed up for First Responders Children's Foundation at the beginning of the pandemic. With their generous donations, we gave some joy to children across the country during a very difficult and scary time. With Mattel's financial support, we bought thousands of hotel room nights with food stipends for first responders on the frontlines." Ms. Crane added, "This exciting new partnership with Mattel, Barbie and Target will support our Power of Play Program which focuses on the social, emotional and behavioral well-being of children. These special Barbie dolls give children the opportunity to role-play with everyday heroes who show up for us in emergencies 365 days a year!”

Today, Barbie is also introducing the Fast Cast Clinic playset, with a Barbie doctor doll and four distinct play areas: a medical station, an exam table, an x-ray machine and a gift shop. The innovative new set includes dough that can be shaped to create leg/arm casts and create wraps with the bandage maker, allowing children to play out roles across the medical field. With dough containers to create casts, a set of crutches and over 30 pieces, the Fast Cast Clinic playset is available at major retailers for $49.99.

Mattel’s #ThankYouHeroes program was created in 2020 to honor individuals who have led the fight against COVID-19, as well as the everyday heroes who have kept communities up and running. The line consisted of special edition products from Fisher-Price, Matchbox, MEGA, UNO and American Girl, along with Barbie.
