Y’know, I totally forgot about the free aspect of volunteering. My focus was simply to get into SDCC any way possible (maybe I should take up acting? Ha). So if I strike out in Open Reg, hey, that’s actually money saved!

I met a woman at the con this year who didn't do open reg. She just volunteered. She went to the con every day.

Saving money yeah I thought of that when I was reading the volunteer orientation packet. Now I’m going to go through the volunteer related posts for tips

I never really thought of volunteering at comic con until we came up with nada in the pre reg so I’m happy that I put family and myself on interest list and we were able to get in on the volunteer side of the con, now we can do all 4 days if we want.

So if we have 4 day + PN, and we volunteer for 1 shift, are we able to get a refund on one of the dates that we initially paid?

Yes, but if you do it you'll also lose PN

So, I've signed up for volleying, but the form asked me for my phone number. I live in Australia and my phone doesn't offer roaming. I will have a SIM card once I hit the ground in SD though. Does anyone know if it's possible to change the phone number on your registration?

Do they even call or text you?

What the? That seems really odd. What would be the reasoning behind that?

I'm assuming since you need to have all four days to be able to get PN while buying badges during any of the registrations. If you no longer have all four days, therefore you wouldn't have PN.

Three out of four of my group got in yesterday for the very first time - yay!!

I’ve seen a few examples from other sites, but what kind of duties can we expect? Is it possible for three people to be working together on something, or is it more likely we’ll be split up? And we are able to be in cosplay, yes?

if you all go together to get your assignments it may be/is likely possible for you all to work together- It really depends on what they need and therefore when u want to work -- and the jobs, line managment on the floor vs BBL (books bags & lanyards)

Daughter & I both signed up to volunteer yesterday, still planning on trying for badges but we will still volunteer either way.
