Haha, I believe you are right! If I recall, didn't the emails just kind of go out in random batches?

I think they are grouped together by hotel. Sometimes alphabetically, sometimes not.

I remember the years it was alphabetical fondly. You could follow the letter waves on Twitter and agonize accordingly. "Well, no email for me yet, but it's okay, there's still the Omni..."

It's been a couple years since there was an identifiable order, though. I think. Although they still seem to go in hotel batches, mostly.

I remember when they stopped.  Bayfront was last that year and I got my email around 11:30 pm.  I thought I had no hotel!

Is the consensus that the emails from OnPeak will start at 9 am PDT?

My email for MGH came in last year at 9:18 PDT.

Hi all,

I requested 6 downtown hotels in order of the affordable room rates. I also request just two Mission Valley hotels. I was finished by 9:04 am. If I'm at least lucky to get a Mission Valley room, how much of a burden/inconvenience is it to get to the convention center? This will be my first time attending. Thanks.

As long as the hotel you get is on the shuttle route, it shouldn't be too bad getting to the convention center. Another option is to have a car and drive in each day. There is a lottery for parking (including parking underneath the convention center) taking place right now.

Yes, both hotels are on the shuttle route. I have no desire to drive to the convention center. Thanks.

Check to see if the trolley is near your hotel.

The shuttle is very convenient! If you do end up at a Mission Valley hotel, suggest just noting if the pick up location changes later in the night to avoid unnecessary walking.

Yeah, OnPeak does batches throughout the day. So some might receive notification around 9am and some later in the afternoon.

The shuttle works very well.  I was on Shelter Island my first year, and the shuttle worked great.

Me too. I thought the weekend would be torture but I has lots going on and I didn't think about it that much.

It's not like I don't have things to do at work, but those things are boring so my brain apparently feels free to wander off and worry about hotels.
