Parking at the airport "long-term parking"
« on: June 27, 2012, 11:25:37 PM »
Has anyone parked at one of the airport long term parking structures for the week?  My hotel, Westin San Diego, only has valet parking for $32 a night.  I don't want to pay that and was thinking I'd park at the airport and take the trolley to the hotel.  Does anyone have tips or suggestions.  This is the first year I've stayed so close to the Con and had to deal with parking.  In the past I stayed at a hotel in Chula Vista that had free guest parking.

Thanks for any help you can give.

There are several parking companies around the airport ranging from $8 to $14 a day. I guess pick the closest one to the trolley (or the cheapest one). You could also take a cab from there, it's gonna be at most $15 to get a ride to Downtown.

Furthermore there's no trolley service at the airport, you could take the MTS BUS route 992 (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login for more details)

I was thinking a taxi might be best so I don't have to lug my bags around.  I might see if the hotel has a short trim drop off area I can drop my bags early then go park.

According to the map there is a Blue Line Trolley stop on Pacific and W Washington, just a short walk from one of the parking locations.

Yes, we used the option of parking at the lots by the airport last year and truly wished we had utilized them in the past when we were at hotels near the convention center!  This is the one that I used last time:

They do tend to fill up quickly. Best of luck!

You are most welcome. I parked there early Wednesday morning last year.
