I am always a fan of reading the books because you just get so much extra, but I also get super annoyed everytime they defer from the storyline, so I bet it's good to live without that annoyance, but yeah I say read the book!

I read the first one, I loved it, then I got to the 2nd one and I was really frustrated because I couldn't get my head around who Davos was, like, who he was related to or how he related to the storyline. I know he was on the show but I just can't remember him or his plot line. Every time I got to one of this chapters I had no idea what was going on, so I just quit.

Ahhh Davos is one of my favorite characters! He's a ex-smuggler and Hand of the King to Stannis. Kind of like his Jorah Mormot in that he is Stannis's moral compass (more or less).

For me the worst thing is I just can't keep the books straight in my mind now with the shows, me and my book folks are always trying to bring up things that will happen, but the conversations are like, "are you sure." "yeah it was that guy." "no it wasn't it was that guy." "are you sure." "Who are we talking about."

If it helps, which chapters cover which episodes (and seasons):

Oh, thanks! That helps! I might give it another try now!

The more things change, the more they stay the same

Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: It's okay, I'm a leaf on the wind!
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: What does that mean?

Uh... I think this is some sports reference? I don't get it...?

(Please explain for those of us who do not follow any sports...)

Tim Howard was the goalie for the US World Cup soccer team. He made a lot of amazing saves in our last game, even though we didn't win.
(I don't follow sports at all but Patrick Stewart was tweeting about him, so I looked him up.)

I can't decide whether to get to Hall H early and stay there for Sneak Peek, The Walking Dead, GoT and Horns... Or spend my time at the many smaller panel I want to do in the same period.
