We can always make our own Comic-Con documentary... ^_~

Ohhhh can we? Submit a bunch of different videos to one person or group of ppl and splice the best clips together? I live your thinking

I don't see why not.  The footage isn't copyrighted if you take it yourself, and if you do plan on distributing it online (either on YouTube or facebook), just make sure people sign a waiver form for their image or likeness to be used in the fan-made documentary.  It can be a really cool project, if you have the resources for such an undertaking.

I'm sure we have some talented people here on the forums that might be interested in helping out with the videography (using Adobe Premiere or another video-editing program). I believe certain individuals are in the music business and may be able to help with audio. ^_~

@MegaDoug:
An afterthought: If you're up to it, you can create a new thread or topic to ask about the general interest of it on the forums.

That being said, I am wondering how you think more women should have been involved. You are right that some panels are very female-heavy. For example, the Twilight panels are very female-heavy. Would you have preferred to show Twi-Moms waiting in line to drool over 'Edward' and 'Jacob'? Frankly, that would not have made the documentary better for me, and woud have been less interesting to watch than what was shown.

Actually I would have liked to have seen that angle, because I think it's been a major turning point for the con in the last few years, and it's become almost like 'my fandom is cooler than your fandom', which doesn't appeal to me. This will be my fifth year and I also thought of that preodiminantly female fandom for TV shows as a major part of what Comic Con had evolved into. To me the documentary just wound back a few years by not covering female fans.

I agree that's a new part of the Con... but not one that particularly attracts me. I'm female, I've read the Twilight books and seen (some of) the movies, but not part of that whole crowd. I'd cringe if people thought that the only women at Comic Con were there for Twilight, KWIM? I guess that's why I'm glad they didn't include that... ;)

IIRC, you can 'buy' the movie via iTunes on July 10, so I'd expect the DVD release date to be round then... interestingly enough, coinciding with the start of SDCC this year. ;)

Yeah, I was disappointed too, but wanted to see it so I rented. The thing is though, now that I've seen it, I'm probably not going to buy it, so if anything they lost out on more money from me.

Its Con it has to be watched often to remind us why we dream of the place.  Its like watching Miracle on 34th street on thanksgiving.  Tradition must be maintained and i am going to make watching AFH just that.

Strange they don't mention a special Blu-ray version as well. (Funny how spoilt a person gets with technology. Even a year ago going with DVD would have been perfectly fine.)
