I have a copy of the comic, plus a plaque that has this image that I bought at a Ross Dress for Less
Ugh....I can't figure out how to post a photo.....grrrrrr!!!!

I may be bias, but I LOVE pretty much anything Dave Stevens has ever done. He had such a passion for art and it showed. I miss him dearly. If you are unfamiliar with his work, please Google him. He's known for the Rocketeer, though he's done so much more. The colors, the lines, brilliant man!

Image tags. Oooooooooooooo! Spiffy!
The late, great Michael Turner.
Joe Mad! is amazing and is the whole reason I bought Darksiders. Wish he would get back to Battlechasers and get a freakin' inker!!
His is right on the line where I am still ok with it, but my opinion is that they need to bring the inkers back to comics. Some modern stuff is way under-inked in my opinion.
I have a hard time making out panels! Ultimates 3 #1 was so dark with all the K tones to make up for the lack of inking.
Inhumans?
what do you guys think of Eduardo Pansica
this is an example of what he's doing on the batwing series
http://pansica.deviantart.com/
I am starting to like pencils more and more over finished art.
Noooooooo. ;)
Richard Friend who inks a lot of DC was talking about finished inks which I have to say are so glossy and smooth that all I can think is that sure looks purdy.
Don't worry, we can still be friends. The only kind of comic art that I fight against is no inks/overcolored. :)
An ally!

I picked this one specifically because I had the honor to watch him draw and paint, though I was more of a distraction at times. ;)
that captain print may beg to home home with me...I might have to arm wrestle ya fer it ;)
Art Adams. I used to have this poster too. ::sniff!::

Simonson's Jean Grey costume should be red and yellow.
i know this isn't great but i've always loved this cover- there's just something so desolate abt it. i'd love to get it signed by miller but that's close to impossible.
this is another one i just love, it's so....just so...brilliant..hokiey..idk...funny? regardless i love it

I'm embarrassed to say that after (too many) years, I did not know these were connecting covers until just now.
ohhh, that's fun! did SIENKIEWICZ do the pencils & ink on that? loving the composition, the guy sneaks up on the viewer :)
as my fav comic store owner said, sometimes he phones it in and other times 'wow'
this is a 'wow' time
sometimes you are **very** predictable Chris.... ;)
Say what you will abt McFarlane .... And over inked stuff
That is amazing
I need to burglarize this website...
I would guess $10k for the Batman.

$63,000??!?!? ::Spews coffee all over the screen::
Must be nice to have that kind of money...
How many pieces from the comiclink auctions do you own, Alyssa? I'd love to see your collection!
now that's an artist i would love to own a sm bit of art from but will never be able to afford!Never say never!!
I love that! I always like the hand reaching into foreground in comic book art, reminds me of Jack Kirby.
Joe Mad ... I both love and hate that guy. He's uber talented and created one of the greatest comics in the 90s, Battle Chasers and then ... stopped. Hate him for that.
New 52 Futures End #44 (DC Comics) — This almost sold out comic leads right into DC’s huge Convergence story line. The cover alone is enough to want to buy this comic! Awesome book!http://www.buzzfeed.com/investcomics/investcomics-buzzfeed-top-ten-list-new-releases-g159
The 2nd one? I see Black Panther. Blue Panther?
Where'd Pyramid go? I wanna see his reaction to this news... :P
Yeah, I wish more of the modern books would lay down more ink.
First thing I thought of was Lila Cheney. :)Cool! I see the resemblance
Does he imagine Alana as white?I don't think he was aiming to paint her as any specific human race. i see what u mean, i had to go look at it again as that didn't even occur to me. But i dont think that was the intention.
I only say that cause I've 2 copies graded at 9.8, hence me wondering...
Lesson learned...bag-and-box nicely after you've read them :)
Uh oh...

What do you think that will go for?if i had to guess, and i'm usually way off, i'd say $150 ish
i have two methods
1) refuse to even speculate on what i'll bid on if anything until the weekend before the action closes
2) place a bunch of low ball bids on things that interest me
i've had both of these methods backfire
if i had to guess, and i'm usually way off, i'd say $150 ish

I think Alyssa is choosing to ignore our attempts to steal her artwork. :P
love that DD mini splash- that's what sold me ;) or i should say prompted me to break the budget....It's my favorite Silver Surfer issue. In my first year of film school we used Bell & Howell 16 mm manual cameras. Our final project was a 4-5 minute silent film. It was around the time No Country for Old Men came out. My story was about a hitman (my cousin acted) who walks around in a black suit and aviators with a massive rifle across Toronto to steal heroin from a drug dealer. At the end he shoots up and starts reading that particular Silver Surfer comic and has a deluded psycho-religious experience.
LOVE this.... SS is my other fav character

i tried that, there seems to be an issue with the link
It was the \ (back slash) in place of the second / (forward slash). I've gone into his post and fixed it, so it should be working now.
(And then [member=1122]karl clement[/member] can see how I did it in his post by going into edit mode. Hope that helps!)
actually, when he originally posted the url, it didn't have a '.jeg' so at first the problem was the url, then then problem was the backward slash

love it! i may steal it ;)
i gotta admit to enjoying folks who can envision using the black ink
i'm not so big on using the McFarlin saturation levels on all colors LOL but using black as a background color is appealing
Got a question: Anyone know the issue name/number for an issue of Cap: With a whit background and he is facing forward with his lower body is amorphous in swirls and more detail towards his head?
I saw this once and can't find it again. Thanks in advance.

that AA FF Kirby is going to be mine... it was on my christmas list but the silly people felt the need to have something under the tree
where did you find it for $99? i've only found it for $135- Plus the suggested retail price isn't even listed yet... I'm thinking the SR price will be $150 & locking in at $99 is a good idea. as long as shipping isn't stupid expensive.
This came out today, Death Of Hawkman #6 Variant by Sienkiewicz. Hoping he has a print of this at some point.

I am a huge fan of Olivier Copiel's work. Page out of Unworthy Thor (https://s23.postimg.org/yzb11xh5n/Unworth_THor_pg_7.jpg)
Oh heck yeah, Coipel's Spidey stuff is superb. He is one of the few artists that I will just continually pull old issues out of the box and just get inspired by! I'll have to check out Wolverine 311! Coipel also did House of M and The Siege if you haven't seen those. ;)
Yup, got those Coipel titles. Whenever I find an artist I like, I comicbookdatabase them and hit the dollar bins hard. :)
Same. I am a big James Stokoe fan. He has a new book coming out - Aliens. :) Here's a pic: (https://www.friendsofcc.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcomicsalliance.com%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F10%2Faliens1-cover.jpg%3Fw%3D630%26amp%3Bh%3D968%26amp%3Bzc%3D1%26amp%3Bs%3D0%26amp%3Ba%3Dt%26amp%3Bq%3D89&hash=084bbdb8b6f0b3b21ad94becaae5cddb2426e6c2)
Loved Stokoe's Godzilla stuff for IDW, Aliens is a great choice for him. I haven't looked at Wonton Soup in some time, but I can't seem to find it.
When ResurrXion hits Marvel Comics in April, not only will the publisher’s X-Men line be revamped and expanded, every one of the mutant-led titles will find its cover graced by the return of the corner box art.
Now, this isn’t the corner box art of old. Artist Leonard Kirk and colorist Michael Garland have updated the classic rectangle to fit nicely in each title’s new X-icon, situated right behind the logo or, in some cases, as part of the logo.
A staple of comic book companies for decades, Marvel Comics took the idea of corner box artwork to new heights, using the small piece of cover real estate to add jokes, tease secrets and just generally add some additional character to its covers. In time, the rectangle, usually located in the upper-left corner of the cover, became an iconic aspect of Marvel’s monthly releases. Oftentimes, it was used to give readers a shorthand roster of who they’d find inside their team books, or to show which member of the Avengers, X-Men or other team would be the focus of that issue’s story. Other times, the corner boxes would tell a (very basic) story of their own, unfolding across multiple issues. (CBR’s Brian Cronin wrote up an excellent historical look at the corner box.)
Though once ubiquitous corner box faded away, to the point where you’d now be hard pressed to find one at all on current comics, fans have long loved the uniquely comic book artwork. They remain such a popular aspect of the medium that Marvel recently launched a variant cover program in which acclaimed painter Joe Jusko has been recreating classic corner box artwork as full-sized variants. As part of the series, Jusko has reinterpreted the works of Jack Kirby, John Buscema and more. But aside from that, the corner box has remained a relic of the past - until April, that is, when Marvel will bring them back in a big way as part of the publisher’s soft-reboot of its X-Men line.
Check out the gallery below for every one of Kirk and Garlad’s new corner box designs, as well as how examples of how their art will look on the first Resurrxion issue of every X-title available in April.
Usagi Yojimbo (兎用心棒 Usagi YÅjinbÅ, “rabbit bodyguard”) is a comic book series created by Stan Sakai. Set primarily at the beginning of the Edo period of Japanese history, the series features anthropomorphic animals replacing humans. Miyamoto Usagi, the title character, debuted in “Albedo Anthropomorphic” #2 in November 1984 from Thoughts And Images. Fantagraphics then picked up the character, appearing in “Critters” and eventually landing his own monthly series. Usagi was also published for a time by Mirage Studios, the home of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, for 16 issues until 1996 when Sakai and his series found their current home with Dark Horse Comics.
Usagi Yojimbo became a household name thanks in part to the 1980s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” cartoon and toy line. With his appearance on the cartoon and one of the most popular action figures in the line, it was only natural for the fans to discover the “Usagi Yojimbo” comic books. Not only did these characters crossover on the cartoon, but also they had multiple adventures in the comics as their worlds collided with one another, often focusing on tales of Usagi and Leonardo. As much fun as it was to read that, it was even greater to see independent comic creators bring one another along in their individual successes as Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird (TMNT Co-creators) did with Stan Sakai and vice versa.
Three publishers, 31 trade paperbacks, over 160 issues, and 5 Eisner awards later, it would seem Usagi’s still going strong and is more popular than ever. 2017 is going to be a BIG year for “Usagi Yojimbo” — Miyamoto Usagi will guest star in 3 episodes of Nickelodeon’s “Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” animated series, voiced by John Boyega of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Along with that, he’ll see 5 action figures from Playmates, his first in 13 years! The big news, though — Stan Sakai will be writing AND drawing an ALL NEW “Usagi Yojimbo/TMNT” one shot from IDW Publishing! No matter what your calendar tells you, 2017 is definitely looking like the Year Of The Rabbit
The “Usagi Yojimbo” exhibit will be running from April 20th in to late June.
I only recently discovered Stuart Immonen. I really like his run on X-Men.
He's great. Have you checked out Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E?
Also, speaking of Stokoe, I've recently just caught up on the recent Moon Knight issues, which use art from both Stokoe and Francesco Francavilla. I don't want to say whys since it's part of the story but it's really effective.

Hey [member=1]alyssa[/member] with the art that you grab (specifically the pages you show above) do you put them in a binder for folks to leaf through? Frame them?
I have a weakness for Silver Surfer- that's a nice piece, like put it on the wall nice. Those look nice. I've an A.C. Moore near me so maybe I can take a peek before purchasing. I still have those first edition SDCC Marvel Skottie Young pins...I could use this frame for those..hmm....
i believe i have these frames, for $20 each https://www.tecws.com/frames/view/4485449/?pid=1306753654
I really like the mat plus these seem to hold up well

Looks good, thanks! There's a store fairly close that stocks them so I can check them out. I went too cheap before with the lower end plastic frames from Michaels and some (really cheap) ones from ikea that work ok for comics. But I like to swap them out from time to time and they are not holding up at all.these frames hold up- double check them tho because i may have found the wrong thing on line-
From New York’s School Of Visual Arts, 100 Years of Genius: The Life and Legacy of Will Eisner, an intimate conversation between Frank Miller and Klaus Janson, to discuss the pioneering comics-industry legend and former SVA faculty member Will Eisner… It’s Sunday, like you have anything you actually have to do that’s better than this for the next hour…
This August will be the 100th anniversary of the birth of Jack Kirby. My main exposure to Kirby's work was through a small pile of comics and reprint books I acquired as a child. Most of them were torn, coverless and incomplete, and I read them over and over until they were as fragile as moth wings.
With the exception of a few stories reprinted in Stan Lee's Origins of Marvel Comics collection, I rarely had any sort of context for the Kirby stories I encountered. I could only buy comics at thrift stores and flea markets, so I almost never read two issues in a row of anything. If a story was "to be continued," I'd just have to guess what happened next. If the comic featured "part two," I only had a bit of recap to tell me what had happened in part one. Not a fair way to encounter an artist's work when they're often telling serialized stories.
Nevertheless, I was always drawn into the slices of Kirby's stories I could get my hands on. I was fascinated by the action, the imagery, the mythic feel of larger-than-life conflicts. I was also a little scared by some of it. Most of the comics I read were friendly and inviting, full of pictures composed to convey a sense of sports-hero athleticism and television glamour. Kirby's work served up a different menu: his characters didn't look or behave like those in other comics. They seemed like they were formed out of granite, or hard rubber, or cooling lava. They stomped and leapt with wild, explosive movements and contorted themselves into agonizing shapes. They paused to pose like roman statues and deliver soliloquies, then relaxed and kidded around with each other like my friends at school did.
I thought it might be worthwhile to take a close look at some panels I remember from back then, analyze them with what an eye for what I've learned about comics storytelling, and try to recall the impact they had on me when I first saw them as a pre-teen.
A piece of original art by Robert Crumb has been sold at a record price for a piece of American comic art by Heritage Auctions. Crumb’s cover art for the Ballantine Fritz the Cat collection from 1969 sold for $717,000. That narrowly tops the old top price for a piece of American comic art, $657,250 for the final page of Incredible Hulk #180, the first appearance of Wolverine, by Herb Trimpe and Jack Abel (see “Comic Art Page Sells for $657,250”). A Frank Miller page sold for nearly $450,000 in 2011 (see “Miller Page Goes for $448,125”).
The record price for a piece of comic art anywhere in the world is still over $3.5 million for the flyleaves/end pages for the Adventures of Tintin albums, by Herge (see “Comic Art Sells for $3.5 Million”). Two other pieces of Tintin art have sold for over $1 million (see “Original Comic Art for Over $1 Million”).
The art is 11” x 12.5” and was from the Felix Dennis Estate. Fritz the Cat was one of Crumb’s earliest characters, and the subject of two animated features in the early 70s. It's a sign of how much the world has changed that this piece of comic art, a cover for a collection of underground comics that were on the fringe of pop culture at the time, is now the most prized piece of American comic art ever sold.

Victor Santos (Polar, Violent Love) has a new graphic novel coming in October from Dark Horse that is an opportunity for English-speaking audiences to get a dose of his rather electrifying artwork for the first time on Rashomon. The new book consists of two installments of a noir mystery set in Japan during the time of the samurai, the first of which was originally published in Santos’ native Spanish, but is now being translated for the first time, and the second installment of which is currently appearing in Europe. Here we get both tales in one volume, rendered in English with new cover artwork and plenty of extras and process pieces, for which Santos is known.
Rashomon begins with the body of a samurai found on the road to Yamashina in feudal Japan, and the story encompasses the search for his killer. Detective Heigo Kobayashi takes the case but finds only “dead-end clues” and no direct witnesses. In this book, Santos’ predilection for noir and filmic elements takes flight, inspired by Ryunosuke Akutagawa’s tales featuring the heroic commissioner Heigo Kobayashi.
Victor Santos has kindly shared some process art with us today on Comicon.com. Here’s our look at his process in developing the cover for Rashomon:

herocomplexgallery It is with huge sadness and our love for our good artist friend, AJ Frena, that we have to report that she has received some bad news. AJ was admitted to the hospital in late April after a massive growth was discovered, and within a few days went through surgery to remove two malignant tumors that had been growing inside her for more than 6 months. Within a week AJ was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and has been going through chemotherapy treatments since.I hope she makes a speedy recovery!
Fortunately, the cancer was detected in its earlier stages which greatly increases AJ's chances, but it will still be a long uphill battle for her to beat the cancer for good. The treatment will involve 6 total rounds of chemotherapy, which is a very effective cancer treatment, but with many negative side effects. AJ is up for the fight though!
And so are we...as soon as we heard the news we spoke with fellow artist, Craig Drake, with the idea of creating a print to help AJ's cause. We decided to focus on one of his favorite characters, Trinity, because Trinity is a fighter just like AJ. 100% of proceeds from this sale will benefit AJ.
Please join AJ with us in her battle against cancer by either purchasing this Trinity II benefit print or by making a direct donation to her Go Fund Me campaign, to help support AJ and her family through this difficult time. Any amount would be greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small. Let's help AJ kick cancer's a*s!

Jack Kirby would have been 100 years old today. The visionary comics writer/artist was born Jacob Kurtzberg on August 28, 1917 and died on February 6, 1994. If you’ve seen a Marvel Studios movie in the last decade, Jack Kirby more than likely had a major hand in the creation of the characters. From Captain America to the X-Men, from Thor to the Black Panther, Kirby co-created or created a plethora of characters for many publishers, including Marvel and DC Comics. He also, along with partner Joe Simon, created completely new genres such as romance comics. His 50-year career in comics spanned from before World War II into the 1990s. Kirby and his ever-patient wife, Roz, were huge parts of Comic-Con each year until his death.
Comic-Con saluted the centennial of Kirby’s birth at the 2017 show, including a huge section in our yearly Souvenir Book (cover shown at left, with art by Bruce Timm, saluting one of Jack’s most famous covers for Jimmy Olsen #141), which is usually available only to Comic-Con attendees. Today, on Jack’s 100th birthday, we’re pleased to offer that 60-page section as a PDF online for everyone to enjoy. Filled with articles and art by Kirby fans and pros alike, the section covers Jack’s life and career in the medium he loved and gave so much to.
This special section includes feature articles by:
Randolph Hoppe (Jack Kirby Museum and Research Center)
Douglas Wolk (Reading Comics: How Graphic Novels Work and What They Mean)
Scott Dunbier (Jack Kirby’s Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Artist’s Edition)
John Morrow (Kirby100, The Jack Kirby Collector magazine)
Scarlet Karimian (“Krazy for Kirby: Jack Kirby in the 1970s”)
Mark Evanier (Kirby: King of Comics)
Charles Hatfield (Hand of Fire: The Art of Jack Kirby)
Plus tributes and reminiscences by the Kirby Family (son Neal, daughter Lisa, and grandchildren Jillian, Jeremy, and Tracy); Mike Royer, Steve Sherman, Kevin Eastman, Joe Sinnott, Jimmy Palmiotti, Bill Schelly, Paul Levitz, John Morrow, Dan Didio, and Maggie Thompson. And some great fan art devoted to the memorable characters created by Kirby.
Happy birthday, King … Comics wouldn’t be the same without you!

I have to say it worries me... having bought art from different dealers over the years-... and the fact that obviously forged Liefield art was certified by PGX is outright disturbing.
there's pleanty of pic's of forgery vs real for comparison.
i guess the take away is know the artist you're buying- I got a Silver surfer Lim & while i'm not questioning it (because it looks right)... i will be a **lot** more careful next time

Oh yes, same here.Yeah but now I'm going to the other end of the extreme...what about when you wanna get a book signed and you give it to a 3rd party service that does that stuff for you and then gets it graded? Who says that that signature is really the artist's? The implications of this can be pretty huge...
It's the third party buyers that I worry abt, not the stuff I get directly from the artist.
I had just gotten a silver surfer Len wen (sp?) from a third party seller..... freaking on the inside 😒
IDW Publishing has temporarily closed its San Diego Comic Art Gallery as part of broad changes to the two-year-old gallery. Founding gallery manager TJ Shevlin exited the company earlier this month, and IDW removed the retail storefront component of the gallery. A source familiar with the situation calls it a "transitional period" for the gallery.
IDW's San Diego Comic Art Gallery first opened in June 2015, coinciding with the company's move to its new headwarters at Liberty Station's former Navy Barracks. In its two years, it hosted numerous exhibits with the work of Kevin Eastman, Howard Chaykin, and Ben Templesmith, and fostered local community events as well as tie-in events concurrent with Comic-Con International: San Diego.
IDW anticipates re-opening the gallery sometime in February 2018.
that whole situation is just curious-
I had heard TJ last day was a week or so ago---
San Diego Comic Fest would like to congratulate our good friend TJ Shevlin for concluding his amazing 3-year run as Manager of the San Diego Comic Art Gallery. He brought every bit of his passion for comics to this role, forging a great community for fans, wonderful events with schools and local scientific institutions.
For anyone lucky enough to swing inside the gallery they would always get an enthusiastic and informative talk from this guru of comics. He has been a great friend to San Diego Comic Fest speaking on lectures for several years and more importantly a part of our community.
Thank you so much, TJ. We wish you the best in the future.

I was just in there a few weekends ago (sometime after Christmas) and my son and I (mostly my son) had a loooooooong talk about Transformers. He's always been incredibly knowledgeable and super nice and helpful. He mentioned that he was moving some of his personal stuff out in the near future (the Transformers toy display case was all his personal collection, for example) but he didn't mention he was leaving.
TWO big announcements ahoy! Little Fish is adding, for the first time, a writing class! Students and parents have been asking, and we have heard the call!
Secondly, we can think of no one better equipped to teach this class than TJ Shevlin, who we are proud to announce as our newest instructor!
TJ comes to us from a long history in Comic retail and as the Gallery Manager at the San Diego Comic Art Gallery.
We're kicking things off with a half month lesson. This class is just 75.00, for January 19th and 26th! Email us at [email protected] and we'll hold you a spot in this new, exciting class!!
that whole situation is just curious-
I had heard TJ last day was a week or so ago---
DW Media Holdings, Inc. reported a loss for the fiscal year ended October 31, 3017, on sales declines in its IDW Publishing (which includes IDW Games) and CTM Media Group divisions and a slight sales increase at IDW Entertainment. Publishing sales declines were particularly acute during the company’s August-October quarter, down 28%, from $9.4 million in its Q4 2016 to $6.8 million in 2017.For more go to;

The Gallery will also be hosting a donation beer & wine bar featuring some tasty brews from Pariah Brewery, with all profits going to Traveling Stories. Join us!

The History of IDW Publishing exhibit walks guests through IDW’s early days to its current position as one of the largest comic book publishers in the Americas. Visitors will learn about IDW’s very first published art book with the then up-and-coming illustrator Ashley Wood and their taking a chance on two unknown creators and releasing the acclaimed comic 30 Days of Night all the way through to IDW’s current position as a television production company and tabletop game publisher.

We are incredibly proud of Geppi's Entertainment Museum (GEM) and the countless families, tour groups, and individuals who have visited us and seen the impact of comics and pop culture on the world around us. The work done to promote the Stephen A. Geppi Collection by GEM staff, lenders, and members has allowed us to reach this point. The Museum will close to the public on June 3rd, and we will begin transferring the exhibits to the Library of Congress with the help of their team of conservation experts. The Collection will go on display this Summer at the Library of Congress’ Jefferson Building, where it can be seen by millions of visitors. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to sharing more information with you soon! See the statement on our FaceBook page HERE!

Hopefully you can see the fine lines in the background. As you may or may not know, I usually have a whole backstory planned out for what's going on in a cover I do. Well...
Here's the premise:
"GI Joe has stormed a COBRA stronghold and captured it. Snake-Eyes and a small group of other Joes make their way through the interior 'cleaning up'. As Snake crosses the gangway between the turrets, Skystrikers pass overhead. Using the noise from the jets as cover, Storm Shadow makes his move"

jscottcampbellart The Historic SPAWN #300 is only a couple of weeks away! Here’s a glimpse of the original concept sketch I used to pitch my cover concept to @toddmcfarlane . It’s often challenging to recapture the initial edgy and designy vibe and energy of an initial sketch! I’ll often keep these rough sketches out while drawing the final so I don’t lose sight of the more simplistic blocked out shapes and strong lines in the final, which can often turn out soft and unnecessarily detailed if you’re not careful. Swipe through to see how big this initial sketch is at the start as well as all 3 variants of the final covers, the B&W (N), the virgin (M) and the Standard tradedress (G). Todd actually suggested adding the easter eggs of the additional characters, an idea I loved! And @psteigerwaldart ‘s colors brought the entire look and feel together beautifully! And don’t forget, there’s a 9 page interior chapter by Todd, Myself and Peter!

brandoneastonwriter Here's an early peek at a promo piece for DOMINION'S LIGHT - a sci-fi/fantasy hybrid one-shot comic launching on Kickstarter in late October.
Created and written by Brandon Easton (TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON - SIEGE, STAR TREK: YEAR FIVE, MARVEL'S AGENT CARTER). Illustrations by Andrew Griffith (IDW'S TRANSFORMERS, MICRONAUTS, G.I. JOE). DOMINION'S LIGHT is an inclusive, original and expansive story of a trio of treasure hunters swept into a global civil war when they discover a mystical artifact hunted by a power-mad sorcerer.
Special thanks to Ramón Govea for his assistance and Edgy Ziane for the colors in this piece.

A Vision in the Making…
Joe Kubert is one of the visionaries of comics and popular art. From his pioneering work on characters like Hawkman, Sgt. Rock, and Tor, to his graphic novels and legacy as an educator, Joe helped to create and refine the visual language of popular, sequential art. His legacy as an artist and educator, as well as the materials in his studio, are the foundation of our collection of comics and popular arts.
The Rochester Institute of Technology is establishing a world-class library, maker space, and museum devoted to comic books and popular arts. Building from a foundational collection of Joe Kubert’s studio materials, process artwork, original art, and published work, the Kubert Library will be a one-of-kind center for the study, appreciation, and production of comic books and related arts. The Library will be a centerpiece for RIT’s Comics Studies Initiative, which includes an undergraduate comics studies curriculum, a summer arts institute for aspiring creative professionals, and rotating public exhibits, screenings, and symposia.

marvel One of the noblest and most tormented cosmic entities in the universe, the Silver Surfer treasures freedom above all else, but has often sacrificed his liberty for the greater good. This week on #Marvel101, we are searching the cosmos for meaning.
brandoneastonwriter This was announced on the same day that my dad passed away. It was a wild mix of emotions because it has always been a dream of mine to write Spider-Man. As a kid, Spidey was the one hero I could identify with. Spider-Man became my "gateway drug" into the world of superhero comics and my appreciation of the artform spread into anime, manga and sci-fi literature. Comic books kept me off the streets. Comic books helped me to cope with some of the rougher aspects of my childhood. Comic books helped me to keep my head together during the darkest days of my college years (and there were MANY). Comic books were there for me when my peers vanished. Even though I've had some brutal experiences in the comics industry, the good far outweighs the bad and I'm blessed to be able to create fun material with folks I've long admired. I wouldn't trade any of the friends I've made in the biz for anything in the world. I don't even know if it's appropriate to post this, but I wanted to share some of my genuine happiness about this news as I move forward in my career and in my life. So here it is: I'm writing an arc in the relaunched MARVEL ACTION SPIDER-MAN.

The United Nations is Looking for Creators to Help Stop the Spread of COVID-19
The United Nations’ Talenthouse art works have put out a call to help create material to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
A submission system has been opened for creators to submit work that they may help in translating and getting “critical public health messages” out to the public. It should inform people across different cultures, languages, communities, and platforms.
The submissions that work will be visible on a microsite and be made accessible to everyone who will be able to download and use the art across their platforms to support the cause.
UN key messages include:
Personal Hygiene
Physical Distancing
Know the symptoms
Kindness contagion
Myth busting
Do more, donate
You can find more information and make a submission at the Talenthouse website.
cwc_artist Optimus Prime wears a mask. Be like Optimus.
Wearing a cloth mask in public is an act of respect for others. It's not for protecting yourself, so you're not being tough or brave by not wearing one. If you are an asymptomatic carrier, it can prevent spread.

andyparkart My glimpse into the process series continues with this alternate rough I did as a possibility for the San Diego Comic Con poster for Ant-Man and the Wasp. Ultimately they wanted a piece that felt like a companion illustration to the SDCC poster I did for the 1st film. I’ve always been a fan of illustrated movie posters by artists I grew up admiring like @drewstruzanart so I really enjoy doing these. Oh, & I put the placeholder stuff at the bottom of the rough to show how it’ll look. I’m aware the date & website are wrong ;/

sdcomicfest If he wasn't your favorite artist then he is probably your favorite artist's favorite artist. His stories and artwork have influenced fans and creatives alike and will continue to for generations. He created icons, legends, worlds and mythologies with the stroke of a pencil and always pushed himself to be better.
He revolutionized the world of comics and many would claim he saved it a more than a handful of times. He created or co-created some of the most iconic fictional characters in history including Captain America, The Fantastic Four, The Hulk, Thor, The X-Men, NIck Fury, The Silver Surfer, The Avengers, The Eternals, The Fourth World, The Demon and countless other projects. We are always happy to celebrate these timeless tales but today we celebrate what would have been the 103rd anniversary of his birth.
From all of us at San Diego Comic Fest we wish a Happy Birthday to Jack Kirby, the King of Comics.

toddmcfarlane Spawn 311 Tribute Cover Given the limited amount of minority characters in the comic industry today that are considered major Superheroes, I thought it appropriate for one of those well-known heroes (Spawn) to pay tribute to a man who made a lasting impact on helping shape such a strong superhero of color. Chadwick Boseman is a person who honed his skills and then made a career using them. Then he fought a fight against his own body that showed the true spirit of this man. We should all admire the traits Chadwick shared with us. And the inspiration he gave to millions of children around the globe who got to see a strong, meaningful and proud hero that looked like themselves.
