Incognito mode doesn't help.  It doesn't do what people think it does.  Primarily, what it does is that it won't keep records of activity while in incognito mode.  So it won't save any cookies picked up or  browser history while incognito.  Those things aren't relied on anymore to identify a browser.  They basically do nothing to prevent someone from identifying your browser and thus anyone associated with that browser.

So, say in the case of OnPeak, if they're not using IP addresses to track, but instead using the newer methods you referenced before, how does one go about sanitizing their browser?

IIRC, until you are actually let through into the form itself, there isn't actually any info required to get into the waiting room. Click the link and you're in.

Use a different browser. Just like the in badge sale.

I also realized that I opted out on my ID for emails and did not receive the link.  Can anyone provide a contact who I can reach out tomorrow for link for the hotel lottery?

Your comment led me to do some googling. According to You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, my protection against tracking fails mainly on fingerprinting, which led me down the rabbit hole of learning what fingerprinting is (mostly HTML Canvas tricks, but other things like screen resolution and even battery level).

I'd be VERY impressed if OnPeak has that level of sophistication.

In my experience with OnPeak, it seems like they simply cross check information entered into their system forms (i.e. names, emails and addresses) to check for duplicates. It did not seem to be very sophisticated. The emails I have received in the past were basically screen shots of a database system emailed to me to clarify seeming duplicates. I highly doubt that they use IP addresses or anything of that specificity to screen for duplicates. OnPeak does not seem that high tech. Just my take on it though. I could be wrong.

Are we 100% sure the link emailed to us is non-unique and can be shared? Did two people who got it compare it?

Thanks, just want to make sure.

Sophistication is definitely not a word I’d use to describe Onpeak.  Perhaps we’re over analyzing it.  I’m going to take the suggestions from here and make sure to use different emails, mailing addresses and fake occupant names.

For those that believe me. I knew it was April 11. I just couldn’t tell you all. Plus it sounded fake because of the short notice.
We believed you but we didn’t want to believe you!

Help me fill the non-downtown hotel entries. Are y’all keeping it blank or are you filling in with some place from Coronado? Not even sure where that is.

TWO days notice?! WTF. Oh OnPeak, you're... something else.

Don't forget changing the date on us too. I was expecting a Wednesday from all the previous dates, so happy that I'm off Thursday from work to do this! That means next year anything can happen, and we can't rely on WonderCon's convention dates.
